Dixon, even I can't see anything positive. Big debt, no backers, no recruitment, 7 players gone, tied to the AJBell. Somebody find something positive. Like Gales drop goal last night for one.

We have at least one more year in Superleague and who knows with the Doc out of the way more people may have a different perspective on the club. I have honestly lost count of the number of people in Salford who freely offer a negative opinion of him without even prompting the question.

err, why is he out of the way? ... I read the statement on the club website and compared it to the MEN reporting: the MEN's stance in the paper: "The businessman will retain ownership of the club, but says he will no longer be involved in its management." Then later in the same story: "He said he would be handing over ownership of the club to a trust 'for the benefit of the fans and the local community of Salford.' " Now the MEN gets a lot of criticism from many on here but I would assume that a reporter (Paul Britton) putting this story together from the web and also from a press release would realise the contradiction here and use the same reporting skills to seek out who OWNS the club. So who will own the club: the trustees, Dr K, the trustees with Dr K in the background, ? You need the paper edition not the internet one (unless you want many many pages on Giants, Fury, Mourinho, Guardiola etc.)

I can't understand why Marwan Koukash didn't delay the announcement until the local businessmen were in place and ready to communicate their plans and vision to the fans. This limbo situation just promotes unnecessary negativity, uncertainty and speculation for the people that love this club.

"This situation just creates negativity, uncertainty and speculation."
... a lot like this time last year, when we were unsure would he stay or go after the Million Pound Game.
Well, there's always beer and music. I am getting too old for all this excitement.
Does anyone know of a time machine which I could borrow to ensure that my dad and mum moved to Wigan, St Helens or Leeds just before I was born? Imagine waking up and knowing there was a club out there that wasn't about to move to another town, get renamed, have an uncertain future, attack the people at the game for not being at the game, change management, etc., etc. May you live in interesting times.

I think he put a lot in but sadly didn't in the end connect with the fans. He missed a lot of help along the way. Asking the views of advisors, consultants, gurus from outside whilst the people who knew the answers were all around him. Sadly an us and them position seemed to be created. One of the things that bothers me now is that the vociferous types who often don't think of the bigger picture take over; like the person who convened the meeting in Eccles and then wrote the poor letter (cf Dave Burke's well thought out and constructed letter) to the L Express. Oh well we shall have to wait and see, as usual. Surely he is not leaving because we called a meeting to save the name of the club.

Interesting interview with Beaumont about MK on rugby am. He seems disillusioned about a no of things the crowd.at the Huddersfield match, Child's reffing!, But he's still passionate about Salford, will never get his money back, and I suppose wants the supporters to prove it can go forward.
Amazingly he could have taken the franchise to.....Bradford....you couldn't write the script... Failed CEO of Bradford, does consultancy for Salford...advice/ opportunity...Take the franchise to Bradford 🤡

A decent interview with MK here...
From my point of view, I feel pretty bad that his parting words were an emotional 'I just hope I still have the Salford fans respect.'
For all his faults, he's tried his hardest in the ways he knows. Sometimes they've worked, sometimes not. He not only prolonged me watching my club after being a whisker from disappearing, but produced the best season and probably the most successful team I've seen in my lifetime pull on the red shirt. I'm old enough to be long suffering but not old enough to remember the last time we were genuinely successful. So for me, while not becoming a major success like Cas, the club has changed incredibly over his tenure, and certainly in the main, for the best.
Time will tell if this is the start of something better, or the beginning of the end. Either way, he'll have my respect.

I don't want to give anybody any false hope but Fred Done and Ged Mason are names I've just heard. It could be absolute rubbish so I'd take this post with a pinch of salt until an official announcement is made.

It could be absolute rubbish so I'd take this post with a pinch of salt until an official announcement is made. Fred Done's name has been doing the rounds for years now. It would make sense for him to invest as a local businessman but it begs the questions why hasn't he considered the club a viable investment before now?

Is any RL club a viable investment? I suppose it's more about the involvement of running a professional sports team and giving something back to the local community. Jack Walker style.

I don’t want to sound like a cracked record but I thank him for giving us an extra 4 or 5 years out of the depths of depression. Beyond that my problem is that I simply don’t believe a word that comes out of his mouth. That may be wrong but the feelings there and I just can’t shift it.

I am on the same record as bonita above. Exactly.
Re Bet Bald. He has shut all but 2 shops on the UK Racecourses saving him thousands. He is worth £1.3 BILLION but he is 74.
He is footie mad though so cannot see him coming on board unfortunately. I hope I am wrong.
