There’s no way he’s gone because of the fans. He said at day 1 that it was a 5 year project and he wouldn’t be putting money in ad infinitum. We always said that we should enjoy the ride while it lasted and we have. He obviously has the local businesses lined up. Clearly ,there are loads of questions that we don’t yet know the answer to. The fundamental question is who will fund the losses of,say,£500,000 per annum. Second,I’d be interested to know where the accumulated losses under the MK regime now lie. Has he absorbed them, which I hope but doubt,or is the new Trust saddled with them. Similarly, what about the historic debt to JW. I suspect Mr Wilkinson wasn’t expecting that to be paid anytime soon. Unless we know more about the financial situation, going forward, the other questions are irrelevant

Chan it does work in Germany and no reason why it can't work here (and ticket prices at top clubs start at £10, compare that to Utd) The big German clubs can do this because their corporate income subsidises it. There is a stronger sense of CSR in German football. Bayern Munich, for example, is second only to Manchester United in terms of corporate income but as a proportion of their total it is significantly greater. Sadly, I doubt rugby league clubs bring in enough money to allow this. It could work easily in RL, where the club only needs £2M a year to run it. It depends at what level you want the club to be. Super League clubs, of course, require much more money. Salford has been losing over £1m a year for a long time. On last year’s accounts, the club lost £1.35m and has liabilities of £8.2m. The CVA, which the club hasn’t paid for a while (because they have asked for a break) works out at around £27,000 per month to pay. There is over 3 years left on the CVA to run. Look at Wigan: last year, they made a £600,000 loss on a turnover of £7m. Of course, we have something in common – both clubs do not own their grounds. I think the supporter-owned model is admirable but you have be looking at being a Championship-level club at best, such as Rochdale Hornets. And it is not a panacea. Look what happened to Stockport County. FC United have had their problems too.

I wouldn't say I'm sad to see him leave, but I am disappointed with how it's ended. He is to be thanked for saving us and I believe we are in a better position and a more attractive proposition to buy (depending on debts) than before he took over. However, we couldn't carry on as we have been doing. He's been tearing he club and it's supporters apart for the past few years. It's been hard work, I just want to enjoy going to the game again without worrying what he's going to do next.

This board of directors, local businessmen? It doesn't sound right to me are they going to cover our losses/debt?
Obviously this will all be revealed in time but I don't think it is going to end well

Until we know more there's little point in speculation. As it stands, with little information, there's more questions than answers so it's bound to feel worrying. We'll see this pre-season what the effects of the handover will be. If we make significant signings and start a better marketing venture then I'll be less concerned. If the signings are just number signings rather than ambitious signings then I'll be a little more concerned.

I wonder if he told Manu when he signed him.

My guess is that this statement, which is well crafted,is part of an overall agreement whereby the RFL have already agreed in principle to the ownership model that he has in mind. I also think we’ll hear from the Trustees, local businessmen, sooner rather than later because it’s already sorted.

Whatever it is I just hope it's sorted out soon, seems like a perpetual state of limbo with this club

Firstly, thank you, genuinely thank you, without you we would have no club left to be debating.
As I feared the announcement would leave us with more questions than answers, importantly for me is who will get the season ticket holders vote, there are obvious factions amongst the fans and some of them I would be very uncomfortable representing me as a ST holder. My vote KOTS (Paul Parkin for those who know him or Shirley Bradshaw). Will the fans choice need to be a fellow ST holder? If not trying to find a more highbrow and influentional choice would be good.
I'm curious to know which local businessmen will sit on the board, Done, Morson, Ramsbottom, McArthur and importantly if the Sale owner will become involved.
There is no mention but is the club actually for sale?
Has he cut ties or is he going to also sit on the board?

Maybe this is where the forever reds or whatever it is called now will come in, I believe there is a handily timed meeting on Monday I'm sure this will come up in discussions

It's a good job they hadn't decided to revert to franchises for next season,we wouldn't have got one.

Doubt any of us will ever actually find out how the club has been run financially and what liabilities are left or if they have been added too, you'd think if it were £10,000,000 that a new buyer would run a mile.

They probably have run a mile which is why the Club is being parked in a Trust. You can glimpse the company’s financials by googling the 2013 company. I think we’ll have more news soon
