Well others made up for him being off with the pens and sin bins haha, was expecting to get hammered yesterday hopefully next week we can get our first W That’s the problem we need king as he’s the only prop with go forward but uno he’s going to give away pens. See how he plays next week with Mellor and possibly nofa playing

Quick thoughts on last night....
1) Whilst disappointed we lost, overall I'm more than happy with the effort. We'll win as many as we lose this year with that level of commitment and a reduction in the penalties against.
2) Macdonald will be an enigma. Some great work followed by the awful drop from kick off and poor defence for the Handley try. If he can cut out the errors him and Tim will be a massive handful for defences. If Nofoaluma arrives in decent shape we could be in for a treat with that backline.
3) Thought Cust was very good. Strong with ball in hand and got through a lot of work defensively. Him and Sneyd should make a cracking partnership.
4) I thought our pack stood up well. Haven't seen the stats but considering we've "got the worst pack in the league" I thought we did ok. King will make a big difference when back.
5) Need to start nailing the first tackle. Too many times they made easy yards from bumping off the first tackle.
Plenty to work on but also plenty to be positive about. Make sure we do a job on Cas next week (which I'm confident we will do with same attitude) and we can start building from there.👍

Stats for middles were not good. Total metres from our 8 middles 236. Leeds 8 made 434.
This obviously means a lot of goal line defence, no sustained attacking field position and generally on the back foot. This leads to many of the problems other posters have high lighted.
McDonald, Lafai, Watkins and Hankinson made a lot of yardage and Sneyd kicked well and every player put in 100%.
But without competing in the middle we’re going to find it hard against most teams. Look at how Lisone and Sangare impacted the game when they came on.

Slightly O/T... but was there any difference in Liam Watts tackle just now against the Pies to the one Momorovski got binned for last night? Looked very similar but Watts got a red (personally I thought yellow was the right call last night).🤔

"Controversy struck at Headingley as Leeds went into battle with Salford with Rhinos centre Paul Momirovski sent to the sinbin just before the hour for foul play. However, it was the stoppage in play whilst a Red Devils player received treatment that yielded the yellow card. Leeds, however, held on for a 22-16 win." Total RL He only got sin binned because of the stoppage ? Must be a graduate from The Yorkshire Live Academy and winner of the Jon Wilkin Scholarship for Excellence in Coverage.

Looked very similar but Watts got a red (personally I thought yellow was the right call last night).🤔 I think a yellow is correct of Momorovski as he turned and led with his shoulder. He didn't attempt to wrap his arm. I'm still not convinced there was contact with the head. I itial contact was in the area of the ball. Definitely not a red I'm with lIngard on Watts too. I just don't know what a player is supposed to do or how a coach can coach a player to mitigate that circumstance. Watts is a tall guy (he can't shrink a foot), he comes across and puts his body in a position to make a tackle. Dupree is lowering himself to brace for contact and I assume try to gain a position to give him a better angle for more leg drive. www.skysports.com/rugby-league/video/33731/13074515/liam-watts-sees-red-to-castleford-disbelief

The idea that someone caught on the way down being the same as trying to knock their head off is nonsense.
