Leeds are coming into this with an entirely new 1,6,7 and 9 spine. Couple of forwards missing too so never know. If we can be resilient in the forwards then perhaps our trio of Brierley,Sneyd and Cust could take charge. Clutching perhaps but today has given me some much overdue confidence. Got to see how they go this game and then make a judgement. I do not rate the Cas Squad, next Sundays game v Cas at home is a must win.

Does anyone know if you can buy tickets on the gate at Leeds or do you need to go to a ticket office? Been able to change plans and make it last minute so not got ticket from the club like I usually would

Makes me sick seeing croft and askers on that list!! We are short of forwards and a quality hooker and that's going to be our undoing tonight I reckon. Going with Leeds by 12 but hope I'm wrong

I'm a bit fearful. If their forward pack gets on top and their spine clicks we could be in trouble. We know the quality of Croft and Ackers when on the front foot. Miller is very quick and elusive at FB. I don't know much about Crawley, looking at his club history, he's a backup player on the NRL, but Leeds only needs him to have a good kicking game.
That said, we have strike in the centres, and extra ball player this year, in Shorrocks, and a tight-knit team who have their backs against the wall and who'll want to prove the doubters wrong. I'm assuming that our props will a rotation of Singleton, Partington, Ormonroyd, Wright, and Hellewell. Whole they lack size, they do run good lines and have mobility. Wright was one for the most in-form SL players before his injury last year. Hallewell has never let us down and had some very good games in that position at the backend of last season. If Sneyd can kick well and our defence stands up we are in with a shout. I thought our kicking game was poor last year, and Rowley called it out on more than one occasion, we need Sneyd's vest in hat area this season. I think, when fit, Mellor will add some extra craft too and the ability to kick out of acting half.

It would be great to get a win but the odds must favour the Rhinos.
As pundits pointed out last night though you can't read too much from game 1 whatever the result.
I'm really happy that Right is among our options once agan and I think some of the assessments of our pack are far too negative and way off the mark.
"Blow that whistle REF!"

In the Game thread Total had 94 % for a Leeds win with most suggesting a fair few scores difference. Oh, well!

It’s going to be a hard game and I’m not expecting much for the first week or so when king is back and nofa is in maybe another prop were looking good. Saying that there’s no reason if we don’t defend well and take are chances we can’t catch Leeds off guard

In the Game thread Total had 94 % for a Leeds win with most suggesting a fair few scores difference. Oh, well! Same on the Leeds forum. 20-30 point home win according to most of them. Bookies strangely only have them as 12 point favourites and I've foolishly(?) backed us to cover the handicap in my accumulator. Need a good start tonight, plenty of vocal backing from the away end and stick behind the lads if things aren't going to plan. It's a long season and tonight won't define us. Anyone got any idea of how many tickets we've sold?
