Why can't we swap with Salford Fc? Is that not a better option for us and gets us away from the elephant in the room which is the current stadium?

I haven't been to the Salford City's ground but I doubt it would be up to Super League standard if it's not even suitable for the wendyball Championship (though still probably better than Wakefield's)
Edit: just had a look on Wikipedia and with a capacity of barely 5k and only 2k seated it's a bit on the small side but with our current attendance record we couple probably fill it on a consistent basis. However, I think moving there as that stadium stands would be an admission as a club that we had no ambition to be anything remotely like a major force in RL and to not have anything other than a handful of die hard fans.

Not a hope Steve According to the MEN Sale have made a serious verbal bid, Salford City showing interest.

Anyone care to explain how Sale would afford this? SCFC theoretically could with the backing of Lim, but why would they?

Not acceptable to ‘Superleague The criteria for replacing Toronto was average 2k attendance, 5k minimum capacity stadia. Peninsula is 5,100, imagine the atmosphere. Also how can the club be preparing their own bid when we cannot even afford thd current rent?

I like the peninsula stadium but it’s basically a small AJ Bell. Standing behind the posts, seats along the side, empty corners. It feels louder at times cos is smaller. The seating has a lot less leg room than at the AJ Bell. Hard to see much from behind the posts as the stands are shallow. Ok for me cos I’m 6’4” but not sure what it’s like for smaller people
The big advantage it has is the beer and food stalls behind the stand. They’re some of the best I’ve seen in any sport outisde of national stadiums
But it’s far too small and would be a big step down. It would shout ‘championship ambition’

Real question is what will future rent/ relationship be,can't day I think it been that great with the Squatters ( Sale, because they will sell their sole?)

As I said earlier in the topic my understanding is Salford City are only in if they are promoted. As for the peninsula.Well it's too small.Yes are average crowds just about git but our average is bumped up by those games where we touch 7k+.Also expansion of the Peninsula is unlilely. The locals were besides themselves with the current incarnation plus where do people park! As for Altrincham not sure that's much different in size.We could be at a tipping point here.Where do Salford really see themselves as a Super League club or not? I still think the Council can make or breaK this. They can prevent the sale if they want to if they feel that Salford won't survive

No chance of expansion at Moor Lane. It would never get past the planning phase. I’d love Salford to move there as it’s walking distance for me but unfortunately it won’t happen.
