Even the optimists can't make something out of this.
Could it be retribution for reneging on the debt?

If we've been paying slightly more rent than SFA since moving in then quadrupling it isn't much of a stretch... or is it? Your calculations are spot on Does anyone know the annual rent that Sale have been paying each year vs the monies we have paid.... I'm guessing vastly different...

There will be some ground rebuilding at Altrincham, not to far, good size ground for us & local pubs š³ If fans struggled with the concept of moving a couple of miles down the road from The Willows to the AJ Bell then 8 miles to Altrincham seriously isn't an option!š From someone who did the daily commute from Ladywell to Alty for 18 months via 2 trams it's not recommended! I'm fairly certain there's been on Ground improvements on At Moss Lane Since Trafford Borough RL played there in the 1990s. It would have been a good place for Sale to play Apparently the owners of Alty FC have had a Dislike of Sale since a Business deal went tits up 20/30years ago.

My understanding is Salford City will only look at the posssibility of moving in if they are promoted. Sale may welcome a summer tenant.Surely extra income at a time when there is none. Salford Council can easily stipulate that Salford have a guaranteed tenancy for X years as part of the sale.

If we are the summer tenant then Sale won't get a bean in rent from us ..... we can't afford to pay any landlord atm.... I'm guessing we'll have (say) a two year stay of execution... but then we'll need a Rentbuilder scheme so we can pay someone and/or move somewhere... anywhere...

Very good statement, thanks for sharing it and it does give some qualified optimism. Iād be genuinely staggered if the club could come up with an acceptable proposal to buy the stadium as the numbers canāt add up,and theyāre faced with competitors having far deeper pockets. The councilās saying all the right things, though, more open than expected

The councilās saying all the right things, though, more open than expected The council being fifty-fifty partners is fine, but if the politics of the council change, and they could do, those promises are only as good as long as that council stays in control. Regardless of what's happening with the ground sale that's a very precarious position the club is potentially in. Not quite sure how that could change in the immediate future without a benefactor coming in. There's a lot of strings that could be pulled behind the scenes and they could get pulled either way.

My feeling is that something has to change as we can't carry on in that stadium as it currently is. It's doesn't sound financially viable for us at the moment so some new deal either needs to be struck or we somehow have to look elsewhere. Apart from the fact I really don't like the stadium and find it a soulless, flat pack bore is by the by. The reality of the situation is we don't have any other options at the moment and the councils support, although potentially changeable, is welcomed and adds some weight to our tencacy rights.

The council have spoked and I find it as reassuring as takeover bids are about denials of redundancies.

The council have spoked and I find it as reassuring as takeover bids are about denials of redundancies. I couldnāt agree more but I was surprised just how much they said. Whilst I genuinely donāt think itād be politically acceptable to sell to Sale,I can see that Salford FC pose a different dynamic. A combination of the 2 Salfords would be the Councilās dream ticket
