Being said that Sale are buying the AJ Bell outright with the possibility of Salford FC ground sharing. Where does that leave us? Bit worrying this. Where did this come from? Surely couldn't have been more than 6 months since they were building their own stadium on the land near Sale Harriers (or opposite TGI's on Washway Road for the chavs on here😏). Has that fallen through? Oh and I'm sure I've been told on numerous occasions that the Co92 don't do ground shares so doesn't add up to me. Yes their bid didn't stack up, really paltry.

In the build up to Salford RL moving from the Willows, the council were quite clear that the stadium was going to be built purely for Salford RLFC. The stadium had to be fully operational before any commercial business would be allowed. A covenant would be introduced stating that if Salford RL FC ceased playing the whole development could not operate. I know covenants are broken but my point is, it is unlikely that the Council would sell us down the river.

I heard a while back that Salford City FC were moving to the AJ Bell. Also heard a rumour that Ged Mason (MORSON) was buying the rest of the stadium as I believe he already has a large interest in Sale...I do think it would be better if Salford City and Salford Red Devils merged at the one ground....think we may capture more of the Salford people. I may be totally off the mark....hopefully Sale bugger off somewhere else....cant stand that UNION shite.

Salford city FC will move in eventually to AJ. Moor lane does not meet regulations as they progress up the football league so they need a bigger stadium. There is no way the council will sign off on another 20k+ stadium in the city so they will eventually have to strike a deal with FC. I'm not convinced on this rumour yet. Where is it in B&W we are having the rent quadrupled? Why would the council back this knowing it effectively ends the club? Progress up the league 😂😂

If we've been paying slightly more rent than SFA since moving in then quadrupling it isn't much of a stretch... or is it?

I wouldn't be surprised if that has been copied from Twitter.

Is this necessarily a bad thing? I don’t trust a single word from sale or Salford FC but if we had to move would that not make us more attractive to any perspective investors? Current deal doesn’t suit us, getting revenue from match day sales is a step in the right direction but if we have to move would that be the end of the world? Where? That is a big question.

There will be some ground rebuilding at Altrincham, not to far, good size ground for us & local pubs

I like your optimism but, sadly, history is not on the side of clubs moving away from their "town". Swinton, Oldham and Bradford haven't set the world alight in moving and all, in my time, were powerful clubs.

There will be some ground rebuilding at Altrincham, not to far, good size ground for us & local pubs 😳 If fans struggled with the concept of moving a couple of miles down the road from The Willows to the AJ Bell then 8 miles to Altrincham seriously isn't an option!😁 From someone who did the daily commute from Ladywell to Alty for 18 months via 2 trams it's not recommended!
