Just read something that I didn't know.
Understood that all teams travel costs have been covered by Toronto in the last 2 seasons but if they make SL then teams will have to cover the costs themselves.
Would we has an organisation be able to afford such a massive expense?
And what about the extra games would certain teams (undoubtedly us) need to travel twice in 1 season?
Yet more reasons I'd love London to win on Sunday.

Does anyone know if they will play their home/away games alternatively like everyone else or if they’ll be playing their home games in blocks again?

Every team travelling to Toronto will have the disadvantage of the travelling back after the game and playing the following weekend.
A simple solution would have been each team gets a buy the weekend after but then obviously that impacts on the length of the season.

17 man squad plus coaches trainers physios on a flight, that will cost a fortune. Added to the fact a certain Canadian Airline Company sponsor Toronto Wolfpack makes it a nice little earner for them. The RFL will bend over backwards relating to fixtures , they might even give them a amnesty from relegation for a few years. Absolute Joke even contemplating them coming to SL.

Surely Toronto cannot play home matches in winter. That’s as I understand it So it’ll have to be blocks The challenge for the fixtures team, and it’s a very complex business, is to ensure there’s fairness in the previous and subsequent fixtures. Sky will also need to buy into this. I don’t envy the people responsible for this as they’ll cop it, whatever Anyway it’s irrelevant as London will win by 5

But they will only have to do it once and TWP like Catalan will have to do it multiple times but I do like the By-round idea. Then again London have proven themselves capable of winning this game and if it was SRD it would have been yet more squeaky bum moments, really hate them and a normal matchday is bad enough for mine.

Yes but TWP will have to do that more than once and aren't you at least a bit excited at the idea of going there or having them in SL?

They obviously can't play in Winter (regularly 6ft of snow and -20) so they should be made to play at a neutral UK venue.
I guess it depends what Hetherington, Lenagan and McManus want.

According to anti social media, if Toronto come up then the other SL clubs will share their sky TV money as they have their own Canadian TV deal.
So this should cover any travel costs for heading over there.

No SL team would be able to negotiate a different TV deal to generate extra income yet they can, you'd think at least Wigan and Saints would be able to do better than Sky currently offer.
All just such an unlevel playing field being created here.

I think it's the same with Catalans as well but not 100% on that.
No wonder the top SL sides are so keen on expansion. They could end up sharing the sky money between about 6 clubs in a few years.

No I`m not excited one little bit....too much bending over backwards to accommodate a team from across the pond....would like to see more homegrown teams in SL, save Leigh and the likes than messing about with this, that and the other and who should get what etc.....the fact is that no matter what, it is extra expense for everyone and in particular our beloved REDS. If I wanted to go to Toronto then I`d book a city break and take in Niagra Falls etc, not a horrible stadium/pitch designed for everything apart from Rugby League. If we do have to travel then the very least is to get the travel costs paid for by the Rugby League...if they want Toronto that badly, then let em pay for it and not the clubs.

I’m open to the idea and think it’s workable - especially if there is extra Sky money to cover the travel costs. If it fails it is no skin off our nose but if it succeeds then it’s good for everyone.
I would think differently if there were other British teams knocking on the door but unfortunately there are none. London are close but that ground isn’t up to Superleague standard and they’ve only just got their act together. Leigh are at death’s door and Fax and Featherstone are not quite ready yet.

Wonder if Ryanair Do transatlantic? If they were made to Play Home and away at the beginning of the Season As well as the weather being a massive problem There aren't any direct flights from anywhere in the North of England until The end of April. Only flights in the Winter to Toronto are from London & Glasgow & Edinburgh
I Was wrong about no flights during the Winter. Air Transat Fly twice a week In the Winter from Manchester

I’m excited by the prospect of them coming into SL, aslong as they don’t get preferential treatment.
I’ll definitely be going to the away fixture.
