I thought it was a pretty terrible game. London did to Toronto what they did to Salford- defended brilliantly and dominated the tackle- but played one man rugby from start to finish.
If any of these Toronto players become available I’d not fancy any of them - really poor. MCB had his usual game - fast but terrible

The Broncos should thank us for our poor performance agin 'em last month. Better book your parking space in Ealing now.
They could do worse than to go back to Brentford.

Got to disagree with a few here.. I thought that was a fantastic game. Tough as nails, huge hits, total commitment for 80 mins. London deserved it. Teamwork and spirit overcame the highly paid stars. I started as a neutral and was cheering for London by the end. I loved every minute of that. You don’t need lots of tries for a great game.

London played to their strengths. They backed themselves defensively, played smart around the ruck, and played individually better in key positions. Sammut bossed it by making Toronto play from their own 20 for three quarters of the match. Walker played very well in diffusing every kick played by Toronto. They were fitter, and played smarter. Even though they didn't look like scoring they manufactured a victory. Hats-off to the London club...

Well done London. They showed against us they can defend, especially on their own try line. Even better defence tonight. Toronto have been scoring tries for fun this season but London kept them out
London deserved it tonight. Wouldn’t surprise me if there is a change of coach. I suspect Toronto will strengthen and claim the automatic promotion spot next year but it will be a tough division with some strong teams.
Broncos will have to strengthen a lot to have a chance surviving in SL next year

Well done London, very rarely do I want another SL team to prosper over another but there is something about Toronto that just doesn't sit right.
I (although many will think I'm crazy) think that the RFL/SL will find a route into the top division ahead of the 2019 season.
Don't actually think that will be a bad thing as think there is an untapped talent pool in the Lower divisions that can provide for a 14/16 team SL.

I think Toronto as a club and individual players have taken the loss with good grace and been impressive in how they have complimented London.
No fightIng on the pitch from the fans, no whinging from the owner or fans about things being stacked against them or fixed or corrupt unlike some recent heartland club losers of the MPG
London have also gone about things in the right way. I think they will struggle more in SL on the pitch note than Toronto but they’ve got there fair and square. Just as Toronto would have done if they’d won
It’s amazing how many ‘heartland fans’ have been shouting for London when they had nothing good to say about them, throwing similar baseless accusations about RFL bias at them as they do now against Toronto.
The RFL is criticised all the time, often rightly, but the overwhelming negativity, opposition to change and loony tune conspiracy theories from the fans is one of the biggest issues facing the sport

Red bed, I don't think it's opposition to change. In the last two years two of our local teams have been relegated from SL, both with great pedigrees Widnes and Leigh in the race for expansion worldwide and because of the way SL administers (Leigh virtuallydecimated) I think we need to get our local house in order before we 'expand' all over the world. A number of us have seen so many Welsh, French, London and other teams come and go in this chase for expansionism and lots of money wasted. Yes London are back in and Catalan are getting there but we need to help our local teams Leigh Widnes Swinton Rochdale Oldham. I do not want to see a game against Catalan with 2000 on Easter Monday, I would rather see Leigh with 6000.
If the RL wants to expand then start from the grass roots in France, Canada, London, Wales and help it grow. I feel we are destroying SL and now it's muted New York NZ Red Star Belgrade teams etc. Look at football, still very parochial, there is a European Football League.
My view is expand slowly from your roots. If we want other SL teams, help form a Cumbrian team.

JJR - I agree that expansion shouldn’t be at the expense of other clubs but I think the idea that this happens is massively overstated. I agree about investment in grass roots but it doesn’t have to be entirely either-or. You can have both
What have the RFL/SL leaders got to do with Leigh and Widnes being relegated and how are they not being helped? Leigh got a £500k parachute payment. Widnes and anyone else relegated will get the same. Widnes finished bottom and failed to beat enough championship teams to stay up, Leigh finished bottom and lost in the MPG. both years have seen English teams promoted, one from heartland, one not. When us and Hull KR we’re in MPG Leigh, another heartland club, came up. That’s all good and fair because it is about what happened on the pitch.
Are you suggesting Leigh should have been promoted because they bring more away fans than London? I thInk Salford fans arguing that fan base is an important criteria are on very thin ice
If we get RL to take off properly in North America the benefits for the game will be hundreds of times more important than a few more away fans
I can remember all the failed super league teams in France and wales too - PSG and Celtic Crusaders. That’s not a huge number. Neither was saved by the RFL. I also remember Trafford Borough, Runcorn Highfield, the original Sheffield Eagles, Bradford being bailed out, Workington wasting their SL place, Halifax and Oldham the same, Huddersfield and Hull being saved from sham mergers that removed 2 expansion clubs.
I just don’t see the evidence that heartland clubs are being ousted to make way for expansion clubs. Super League is run by the Super League clubs. There is only one (now two) expansion clubs out of 12. Leeds, Wigan, Warrington and Saints dominate it. All heartland clubs. I’m constantly hearing that Red Hall is run by the Yorkshire mafia. Not the French, London, Canadian mafiosi. In the recent decision about the league structure I dont think Toronto even got a vote
We have been growing slowly in the heartlands since the 19th century. If we can get the rest of the world to de-globalise back to how it was in about 1985 or if you want to return to rugby league being almost completely semi-pro then sticking with only the heartlands night work

Just read something that I didn't know.
Understood that all teams travel costs have been covered by Toronto in the last 2 seasons but if they make SL then teams will have to cover the costs themselves.
Would we has an organisation be able to afford such a massive expense?
And what about the extra games would certain teams (undoubtedly us) need to travel twice in 1 season?
Yet more reasons I'd love London to win on Sunday.
Back to the first post now that the smoke has cleared...
I assume this means that the Toronto sponsors have to pay for another season of opponents' travel costs: the BBC commentators for the game on t'wireless last night mentioned - several times - the club's five year plan, which gives the impression that this was in their scheme. It will be interesting to see if their enthusiasm is still there if, say, Widnes or Toulouse* beat them to the promotion spot next year and Superleague doesn't expand to 14 teams to accommodate them**.
* Other fine rugby league teams are, of course, available.
** OK, I'm not immune from the occasional conspiracy theory, either.
The Conference could get quite interesting towards the end of the season.

And if anyone can come up with a sound business model for a Cumbrian club then they’ll be in. No one has ‘helped’ Toronto, London, Toulouse and Catalans be formed. They have just allowed other people to get on with it and allowed them into the league. Nothing is stopping anyone do that in Cumbria
