I think the one alarming factor here gentlemen is that if he was staying then he would come out put everyone's mind at rest and give everyone at the club a much needed boost. The fact he's staying silent speaks volumes. He's leaving after the MPG I'd put my house on it.

Totally agree but I wouldn't bet my house on it, maybe a £1 wager cos I'm too tight and lacking in adventure to take the risk even on a certainty.

I've admired his willingness to bank roll the club but often cringe about the way he conducts himself. Today he once again decided to appear on the touch line. What does he hope to achieve, he has zero RL knowledge so what value he thinks he adds is beyond me. I have to question his decisions with suspicion. Against the backdrop of that performance some fans were bound to vent their frustration so instead of staying put upstairs he decides to present himself in front of fans and then storms into the crowd when he hears things he doesnt like. In my opinion it could have gone very wrong and brought more embarrassment to the club. I can't help thinking this is something he would secretly have welcomed, it gets him back in the media, something he loves regardless of the clubs reputation.
I for one won't miss his involvement if he goes, it was obvious at the end of the game that the players regard him with contempt and rightly so. Make the announcement and go leaving us with the small amount of integrity we still have.

I shall be slightly more cryptic than some have been but a very trusted friend just told me something I find deeply troubling.
A friend played in a charity golf event 2 weeks ago and was paired with an exec from the RFL, though my friend is not a Salford fan as such he was brought up virtually next door to the Willows and knows of my passion for the Reds so he quizzed about Salford for me, when he asked the Million Dollar question about why the RFL seem to dislike Salford the answer was quite startling. If what I am told is correct they are concerned where certain finances have come from, an associate had ties with the underworld and when prosecuted in the eyes of the RFL it seems that someone at Salford became very wealthy very quickly.
Coincidence? From what I gather the RFL seem concerned that it might not be.

I heard the story a long time ago, true or far fetched who knows. But at the end of the day the main man in the RFL brought our chairman into the sport and accepted his money being pumped into it. I'm sure they as a governing body would have done the proper back ground checks? But how on earth you would uncover such a conspiracy I'm not sure, especially an organisation that cannot enforce a salary cap rule.
And again why target our club, if they get what they ultimately desire and force him out of the game, are they then going to pick up the pieces with our club in the aftermath, I think not.

I heard a similar tale from chap from Dewsbury, not a RL fan but when he heard that I was a Salford fan he said that he had been told by someone from Halifax,Leeds area that if the RFL executives were to take a fit and proper person test they would fail it,however if they sat a dope test they would pass it.

Said on twitter he'd like to stay on to help rebuild if we go down. Not sure what to think about that to be honest!!

Not sure why Marwan or anyone else would want to invest in RL full stop, unless its a Leeds or Wigan. For me, the RFL seem content with maintaining the status quo at the top of SL. A rich backer involved at a lower SL club like ours will only ever be allowed to cover the clubs debt.

They all have their own reasons ! It's certainly not an investment. They WILL lose money, unless there's an RFL grant. John Wilkinson, who we need to thank profusely, spent a fortune on keeping our club going

What's with the bizarre, not connected, rugby brawling video attached to that article?

Didn't even look at it, just lazy journalism.
If he's told the players would it not be easy to release a statement to reassure the fans of the same? Very poorly handled for me.

Very poorly handled, he beats the drum about support yet keeps everyone in limbo and guessing on what the clubs future holds....but let's be honest that's Marwan all over and a risky way to run your business.
What gets me if he has told the players he's staying, why are they all playing like it's over and they don't give two fooks. Can understand in a way Lui and BMM going awol as they ultimately came here because of Sheens but the rest I cannot fathom out, unless they collectively want us to go down so they can be released but I cannot see that as only a handful would warrant contracts with other SL clubs.
Kopzcak looks the only player who is showing any true heart, I hope his ankle injury wasn't season ending. As many said at the start of the 8s Josh Griffin shouldn't play again this season. What's the score with Vidot? Carney was in the Dog on Saturday night and my pal was speaking to him, he said he comes across as a bit of a loner and doesn't mix with many of the squad, but he did say he likes it at Salford and has settled.
What's currently going on is anyone's guess, but from an outsiders point of view they seem to all be doing their best to ensure SRD's future isn't in the top flight. Let's somehow hope IW can pull a rabbit out of the hat and motivate them for the last two games, if that doesn't happen it's anyone's guess what will happen going forward.
