Cannot understand the man, At various past meetings/get together's. he has stated I will never leave Salford. I am here forever. He brings all the problems of salary cap illegal payments upon himself, gets caught out and punished and is still demanding an apology from the RFL. He needs to draw a line under it all and move on.Past things he has said he was going to do but never does any of it, I think he doth speak with forked tongue at times

I like the man but think in this instance he is being petulant, he cheated and got caught so suck it up and enjoy the success that looks imminent next season. Despite the deduction we still improved on last season and that was the stated aim so in effect job done.
The latest interview and announcement that he will look at his position at the end of the season is hardly conducive for stability to the current playing squad and the possible recruitment of new players (Can you imagine what Burgess and Mateo must feel like reading his latest comments from far away), he'd have been better keeping that kind of sentiment in house, can only imagine how Tim Sheens feels when he is doing such a sterling job in the background.

You also have to take into account what the media reports as 'news' and the realities can be somewhat different. We as fans are not part of the day to day behind the scenes of the Club and are not aware of a lot of things that happen. Playing staff seem pretty happy. You have someone like Carney who signed on the dotted line for us because of MK and how the Club helped and treated him and his Family. There's always two sides to a story, and while it's difficult to form true factual opinions on everything to do with the Club, it's worth bearing in mind that a lot of the doom and gloom is created by news reports and perpetuated by us the fans.
I'm not sticking-up for MK or ignoring the problems we have as a Club, just pointing out that it's always worth remaining reasoned and rational, as it's easy to think emotionally about things you are passionate about.

I don't know why anyone is surprised by his latest comments. Everything has to be about him, all of the time and he will be lapping up the attention these comments will be generating.
As MR says they do nothing to help team morale going into the 8's as they cause uncertainty. Most of these players are contracted for next season and when the owner talks about walking it is bound to cause some form of unsettlement. It isn't needed and even if he is considering walking, keep it under wraps until the season is done. It also wont help recruitment for 2017. Lets face it, we're competing with the likes of Wakefield, Huddersfield, Widnes, Hull KR etc for players all of which have sensible and long standing owners. If you was a prospective player who would you choose to commit to the next x amount of years?
He's rode the crest of the bad waves and it should be time for him to settle down after a turbulent three years and enjoy the inevitable success that Watto and Sheens will deliver over the next couple of seasons (by success I am referring to top 6 finishes and decent cup runs etc).

Very sad to see these kind of comments on a Red Devils forum, they'd be much better suited to a Total RL posting. I expect at least some sense of balance here. MK is a unique individual, like the all of us,and every measure someone makes of him is how they would have done it differently. I think it was Einstein who said if you measure a fish in terms of its ability to climb trees it will always think of itself as a failure. I believe the RFL have had a very detrimental approach to this which has hardly helped. I know this might ruffle a few feathers but I'm a bit tired of hearing rants about the Doc from the world and his wife. By the way Carnster good post earlier.
Just a note I hope he stays because life with him is a lot more interesting at SRD than anything since Brian Snape who was also not backward in coming forward, funny that!

I also wanted to say that should MK go I can only see one future for the Red Devils. A fan controlled club is something I would largely and normally support but I think it’s mostly a recipe for slow decline into eternal mediocrity. The thought of SRD always lingering on the edge of the championship at best should be a motivation in itself for supporting the Doc and telling him so, instead of just joining an already long enough queue of personality bashing that dominates social media.

Do you not think that his playing to the small element on Twitter who hang on his every word has been part of the problem though?
I hope he sticks around and makes a success of it, because with the introduction of Sheens it looks like things are finally heading in the right direction, but his record as a rugby club owner, rather than a fish climbing a tree, is pretty rubbish isn’t it? The Locke injection thing is horrendous, as was the salary cap breaching, and no amount of “everyone does it” or “**** the RFL” takes away the fact that both were totally wrong and entirely Koukash’s responsibility. The RFL are inept as we know, but publicly slating them in the way he has is a dumb, unproductive response.
Now, has he learned lessons and moved on? I honestly hope so. No doubt he’s also ploughed an enormous amount of money into the club. None of that means he shouldn’t be called our on things that go way beyond innocent naivety or over-enthusiasm though. This isn’t about ruffling feathers, it’s about results and the distinct lack thereof.

Stouffer my answer is that I don't think there is a problem at all.
I don't read tweets by anyone.
When I've heard him speak, I can hear only the passion and love of the game and Salford and whatever he's done or not done yet the club has begun to change because of what he's managed to do so far. It's going in the right direction because of him.
Whenever I hear or read his critics I don't hear a love of the game, or of SRD just a bit of mostly nasty negative noise bent on virtual character assassination that happes far too often.
So My vote is for Marwan, I don't have to agree with him to come to this conclusion I just think he's what Salford need to move forward and upward and all the alternatives seem to point in the other direction. All the best Russ.

You can't ignore what's reported as being said on Twitter just because you don't read it. Regular as clockwork, normally about half ten at night and generally a random insult to Nigel Wood or the RFL. Sometimes with the emoji of a bottle of wine. He's box office, undoubtedly, and I'd rather have him here than not,but the criticisms of his outbursts are valid. Sure, when he addresses the fans he is passionate, and you have to accept the whole package but you can't go slagging off the RFL without much support from other clubs and expect them to sit quietly and take it. We are harshly treated by them, imho, but his rants can't help. It's basic human nature

What SRD needs to achieve all that we fans want is MK being passionate and persistent about getting there. The RFL have done a number on him and Nigel Wood in particular. Expecting him to keep quiet in case he rocks the boat is laughable in this age of keyboard villains and bullies. And about the same time of night for very similar reasons and motivations the RFL gets it in the neck from me. As I said before there are only two directions for any sporting club, up or down, and I'm a firm believer in upwards with Doc. Come on Bonita you know it makes sense!

Got told yesterday that the Doc is gone at the end of the play offs regardless of results, that Peel are taking over the club and that we have signed Green & a SO from Hull KR.
Not entirely certain how reliable this is (possibly need JGR as a barometer) but I'd see Peel taking over as a positive as they would get the right behind the scenes team in place and you'd like to think that they would work wonders with the marketing.

Mate, unless there’s another millionaire with cash to burn waiting in the wings, then you’re probably right that it’s Marwan or bust. I’d also agree that there are signs (so far *just* signs) that things are finally going the right way. Ignoring his twitter rants is head in the sand stuff though, it’s embarrassing and utterly unprofessional, and our passion for SRD is exactly why we call him out on it.
I’m also genuinely interested in what number Nigel Wood has done on him. The Dobson quota thing was ridiculous, but there’s no evidence (yet) that it was conspiracy rather than cock up. The points deduction was Koukash’s fault and was found to be fair and reasonable by an independent tribunal. Am I missing anything else?

Personally I am amazed that more hasn't been made of the Dobson quota 'error'. You would hope that is was just that and not done with an malice from the RFL.
