No russ, get out of a stadium that most salford fans dislike and dont want to got to. We are in a contract that MK is massively frustrated with and cannot legally leave....unless we drop? What other reason can there possibly be for the latest criptic comment he made...

When the previous owner gave up and Marwan took over was the contract for the stadium renegotiated?
Sick of saying it really but I find very little wrong with Barton, what I do find odd is the crazy cost the club pays for its use on game day, surely they must know what the market value of such a facility is.
Personally think there would be a huge outcry and repercussions if Salford (let's not forget the team it was ostentatiously built for in the first place) ended up at a different location.
Drove past the old Clarendon school today, load of room for a stadium there and you couldn't get much more central to Salford.

I don't think there is anything wrong apart from the standing section being behind the posts and more importantly the location. House that in down town salford and it would be amazing.

We need to make Barton work. The council aren't going to give planning permission for yet another stadium in the city, not when it's got a financial interest in this one.

[br I'm not sure it ever will. It misses lots of passing by trade, blokes in pubs people who are within walking distance. As a business that stadium has been detrimental to our attendances no question

We surely need to move on. There'll be no new stadium, obviously. The controllables are the performances. The rest is just noise. Let's be behind them on Saturday and keep our fingers crossed. We can win, certainly. After that is outside our control and we have to thank MK for saving the club, whatever happens next

As a business that stadium has been detrimental to our attendances no question I found an old match day programme from the 95/96 season at the willows, dewsbury last home game. I kept it as a souvenir as we'd been promoted and I managed to get Andy Gregory to sign it. At the back it lists all the attendances for the season. On 1st October 95 we played hull, at home on the back of 6 wins from 7, in front of 2383. I appreciate it wasn't super league, but even with a winning team on the pitch the willows wasn't attracting much of a crowd. As it turns out, we beat hull that day, I'm hoping it proves to a good omen for this weekend against the other hull.

"MARWAN Koukash says there are 'no doubts' he will stay with Salford Red Devils after the club sensationally preserved its Super League status with a stunning golden-point victory over Hull KR in the Million Pound Game.
The owner - who had hinted he would leave at the end of the season - said the match had left him 'absolutely shattered.'
“We deserved it after all we’ve gone through this year,” Koukash told Sky Sports. “I’m so proud of our boys. I feel sorry for Hull KR, but this is our day.”
So not always about him?
