Indubitably old bean, banning chips in newspaper was the beginning of the end of British culture if you asked me, followed by the use of the world selfie and the wearing of snapback hats.

well if what i heard today is true then good its good news Well I'm sure we're all glad you've have some good news. Did you come on here just to keep it to yourself? You've won the lottery? ITV have finally come to their senses and want RL for their very sad ITV1 shopping channel? Salford has finally been recognised as the true center of the universe? Chips can now be sold in newspaper once again cos we've done a runner from Europe? Jeremy Corbyn has been officially recognised as the only honest politician in parliament? Am I getting warm? Ha ha well your not far off with most of that apart from the lottery bit unfortunately !!! If i had said it straight out it would have spoilt your fun. However, given the title of the thread and it being a Salford forum the good news could be one of these Marwan is employing Hetherington as our salary cap manager and we are getting our 6 points back .... Tommy Lee is going to saints and we are getting cash plus Roby in exchange ... Lui and BMM have decided they are going to turn up for the rest of the season ... We have been practising different kick off options.... Players have been told contracts will be honoured next year regardless of if we are in SL or not all very unrealistic but one of them i am told is true ...

The issue for me is if the Doc stays and the 'Boss' stays we will go backwards, undoubtedly we improved markedly early on in the season and until the points deduction I was very happy, seems to be since then things have spiralled a little until we find ourselves against it to make the MPG and more than likely we are set to lose our best signing in decades. Can see very few people in world RL with the kudos and experience of Sheens, Wayne Bennett would be one but we've no chance there, Gus Gould would be another and maybe Bob Fulton at a push, other than that we're going to have to give the job to Bobby Goulding

Jack Dreadon saying it's done deal, he's stepping down for 3 year head coach deal at KR no matter what division their in. Also if Salford play KR in the MPG, then he will step down as Salford director of football.

I guess if we are in the MPG against Hull KR then it is added incentive for Salford. Surely though there is a conflict of interest as Sheens knows (and in reality will have instigated most of them) ll the plays in the book and various targets/weaknesses. Can we not send him somewhere without electricity, internet access or telephone lines? Swinton will do I find this news deeply worrying, any Salford fan if they are honest knows that all the major progress made in the last 18 months is down to Sheens.

How did he report the story was it matter of fact or his usual doom mongering?

I do agree it is unsettling for us fans though and like P- G much better to have it over and done with than lingering on and on and on.

I think the Doc has to take a proportion of responsibility for the dwindling attendances this season, but not all of it.
As it's been said numerous times already, there is a correlation between the 6-point deduction and the decline in supporter turnout. Also, the Marketing and promotion of fixtures (including fixture changes) has been atrocious, especially if you aren't a user of Social Media. There is a lot more that the club could have done to reach out to the local demographic, but they simply haven't achieved it.

Attendances were on their way down before marwan, buy he could have done more to get it right. I think the promise of vast improvements and subsequent lack there of is worse than the previous plodding along knowing we'd be shoite.

We were in the media more than even the Snape era. Limping along was better than the excitement of who we might sign next or what new story might come out or building a team that might start to challenge? I can't believe that's accurate for a moment. And people are far more likely to be put off by lack of transport and having to queue for hours to get out and a team that under performs than anything a chairman says or does!
