Some very decent young signings we're making. Very encouraging. Especially knowing that Marshall likes to promote youth and develop young lads. We're slowly building a pretty decent looking squad.

Yes unfortunately SL is a props market at the moment. The current list of props out of contract in Australia has no real stand-out names. Will be surprising if we get anyone of note to be honest.

Next season is about consolidation.
Our game was thrown into the creek with Toronto pulling out, then Covid, then furlough. The competition was already in a precarious position before that. We just managed to scrape through the contractual requirements from SKY. It's all very well talking of expansion and trans-atlantic teams, EU teams etc but even the die hard expansionists have to see that SL needs a season or two to get back on its feet before it can start casting an eye elsewhere. Expansion takes time, effort, and money. At the moment no expansionist team has all three and it would be chancing another repeat of the Toronto farce at some point in the future. Where would that leave SL once again? We have to be realistic. We have a great product and it's great because of where its come from as well as where it wants to go. Yes we are a parochial sport. But we're a parochial sport that birthed the NRL, and become the National sport of PNG. We have a rich history in the south of France, and our showcase excitement, athleticism, and envied sportsmanship was born out of decisions and hard work of those Lancashire and Yorkshire men and women that have helped make it what it is today.
It seems that too many RL fans forget their sporting history or seem to be embarrassed of our working northern roots. We can get to where we want to be as a sport, but we wont get there by abandoning everything that makes RL what it is. Expansion can still happen. The door isn't closed and that's the end of it. Let's just hold onto what we have this season coming, take a breath, then look to the future.

That does it, now I know you're all in this together! Maybe something to do with your security settings on whatever device you're viewing on.

Moley posted we’ve signed Daniel Levi from Manly - looks decent and has played for New Zealand as hooker Is there a link? And is there more than one source for this piece of good news?
All I have is Zero Tackle
"Danny Levi (released)" for the Manly losses this year?
Nothing solid, just this from Moley...

If we have got Addy, today would be a great day to announce him, but with that verdict I think he may stay in Leigh Reports of us signing Danny Levi, so I would hazard a guess that the Addy rumour is a no go.

We've signed Danny Levi. Heck of a signing that Cracking signing if true. A former teammate of Ken Sio. A great replacement for Lussick. Joey had the power and delivery. Levi has the delivery and pace.

A derby of sorts, so happy enough there, but it smacks to me as a safe bet rather than anything else. How York or London got overlooked in favour of Leigh is a bit baffling. I'd have loved to see Toulouse but with the covid year they were never going to be chosen. I really think they've missed a really big opportunity with York, and I feel really sorry for London who should really be in SL on merit once Toronto went.
Fans are up in arms, but that was always going to happen. One things always certain, rugby league fans love a good moan about the sport that they profess to adore.

I hope the Hudds fans are not expecting miracles, because Watson has been clearing out and bringing in new. Difficult to gel cohesion into a brand new squad, as he well knows. I'm no management guru but if it was me, I'd be making smaller tweaks to a squad, and after a season of assessment be in a better position to make larger changes. High turnover of players means that coaches are always taking steps backward as squads gel over time. Watson is obviously feeling the pressure of what he's promised and I think he'll struggle this coming season. If he doesn't then I've misjudged and he deserves any plaudits that come his way.

Reportedly BenMM went to Warrington and Gaz Ob to Toronto both for about £150k each and Blease did a great deal for Rob Lui and exchange for Tui and good bucks So how much for Yates with two years left on his contract? Probably around £200k. If Watto/ Huddersfield want to play in the big boys trading league with Warrington, Leeds, Toronto then they have to pay at the levels they pay. Simple. Different trading levels now Watto, you're buying a proven SL player already in contract not a scrap heap unproven model. You're buying, we don't need/want to sell so let's see if you survive at this level. Different ball game now mate. Good test for you. Club is in a win/win situation. We're not as desperate for that cash as we were twelve months ago. Means we can play a little hardball for a change. We either get a load of cash or we keep a good player, and I don't buy what some are saying about 'If he wants to go then get rid'. He'll play his game regardless, he's that type of player. Watson's attempts at unsettling us isn't going the way he thought it would.

Rugbyleaguehub.com’s weekl rumour piece, The Chicken Wing, included this line about Watsons activity at Huddersfield: Watson did want to bring in some of his old players from Salford, with Luke Yates and Tui Lolohea targets, but that appears unlikely. Hopefully they’re right and we’re keeping Yates (I think Tui will def be staying now Hudds have signed Cogger) Good news about Yates if true. It looks like Blease has played hardball which is refreshing. Knowing that the club have always said that players have a short career and they go with their blessing, I wonder what was different in this case? Maybe the players are settled? Maybe Watson's pull isn't as strong as he thought it was? Maybe the appointment of Marshall and Orr has settled a few players minds? I'd love to be a fly on the wall...

I would like another half back, maybe at times Tui could double in the centre, just an opinion. Tui played a lot of FB and wing when he was younger. Seeing as he's lost a bit of pace but put on a bit of weight he could maybe do a job at centre in a push.

He's a good signing. Another utility player, young and talented.
