That profit roughly tallies with what I think the grand final run was worth to us. Leeds were finishing their stadium renovations so that should account for their loss.

I'm wondering how Hudds has come out on top? The two teams with the smallest crowds post the largest profits. That's bound to wind-up a few opposition fans!

Makes good viewing for a club with no major benefactor. I think it will be very different figures this year with the impact of Covid and no crowds.
Does anyone have any idea of the financial benefits as a result of Grand Final and Challenge Cup final appearances?

Not sure on grand final but Blease said we’d make a loss on the Challenge Cup final due to the costs of transport, hotels etc.

Think I recall Paul King stating something along the lines of Salford cut their cloth accordingly, we have small crowds so do not factor the income in as much as the bigger clubs who rely on 8-10k fans through the gate every other week.

Surprising statistics but more good news for Salford fans. Well done Ian Blease and co.

We're quite a tight run ship with Blease, King et al in charge, hats off to them!
Next year's figures are unlikely to be as good, but probably not as bad as some given we live within our means. Plus we did seem to have a disproportionate number of home games at the start of the season - didn't we have like four or five on the bounce back in February?

Seems surprising at first glance but when you consider we don’t have a big money backer we have no choice but to turn a small profit or break even. If you have an owner with deep pockets you can afford to make a loss every year as you have someone to fund it
I seem to remember figures of £250-300k for the grand final run which would equate with this profit. It would explain why we’ve been able to strengthen our squad. Not sure it will be sustainable without a final appearance every year 😊
You’d have to question what’s going on at Huddersfield there though. To turn a profit like that with an underperforming team and a relatively small fan base. Maybe Ken isn’t quite as generous as some people think. Or maybe it was just an unusual year for them for some reason
