I think Logan put in a real shift on Friday too. Unless I missed it, I don't think he was substituted until somewhere around the 60 minute mark, and he was back on shortly afterwards.
I think some of this might be down to the way Ian Watson "rests" players during the match. For the first couple of tackles following a kick downfield, the drives are taken by the outside backs, thus resting the forwards. Similarly, the acting half-back role is sometimes taken by Gareth O'Brien or Michael Dobson while Logan is still on the field. All very clever.

The game on Friday night was my favorite away day in Super League (not including the £1m game as that was a bit of a strange one), scoring 54 points at Hull FC is a massive statement. I know they had injuries to 4/5 key personnel but you would still expect them to be competitive playing at home in front of a 11k+ crowd. You'd have to say it was a truly magnificent attacking display, some of the passing was exceptional our game management put them under so much pressure in their own half and they just couldn't deal with us.
Robert Lui had one of his best games in Salford shirt, god I hope we give the man what he wants and get him signed up on a long-term deal. Other mentions have to go to Greg Johnson who for me had his best game in a Salford shirt, he caused Hull all sorts of problems and fully deserved to score a couple of tries. Also how about the big lads Lama Tasi and Ben Murdoch Masila? I bet the opposition hate playing against them, they're human wrecking balls when they get going!!
Looking to next week against Leigh we should in theory wipe the floor with them, they've lost their last three against Wakefield, Widnes and Catalan. They're missing the likes of Gareth Hock and Josh Drinkwater who are 2 of their best 3 players not to mention we're on absolute fire at the moment. Catalan will be tough given they've somehow ended up with an extra 2 days rest (nice one the RFL), but with a rising number of injuries the latest being Luke Burgess and Jason Baiteri I do feel it will be a close game, however losing there won't be the end of the world.
Finally, my only concern for the rest of the year is there's two 'Easter Style' weekends this season and we're at some point going to pick up injuries to key players. Can our squad cope losing 3-4 our our top 17? I just really hope we can have as similar luck as last season with injuries and who knows this could be a season to remember and we could make the top 4. Either way I'm sure a lot of you will agree there's never been a bigger buzz supporting Salford, not in a long time anyway.

Reply to salfordlad1. Can our squad cope losing 3-4 our our top 17? Actually, I think we could. Take Friday's squad and add Kriss Brining, Niall Evalds, Weller Hauraki (fit soon, I believe), Ryan Lannon and the other Walne brother (Adam?). Not exactly like for like, but not a huge drop in standard, and with the team so full of confidence right now, they could probably select you or me and still win! If we lost all of Lui, Carney, Carney, G O'B, we'd struggle with our spine, but who wouldn't? We'd also struggle if we lost 7 or 8 players, but come on! Even Wigan would struggle then. So, I think we can definitely cope with even 4 or 5 injuries.

and the other Walne brother (Adam?). Jordan Walne broke his hand playing for Oldham Roughyeds a couple of weeks ago, so he's not available just yet.

God how far have we come since the £1m game!

During the Saints match, one of the commentators spotted that the Salford forwards were out of gas because they were walking back after a Saints kick through. I think it was Terry who commented that the Salford backs were bringing the ball back to the forwards to give them a breather. As you say, very clever.

Was away so not really had chance to watch the scores on anything other than my phone until today.
That was pretty ruthless rugby league from Salford, a slight hiccough at the start of the 2nd half but to then put our foot on the Hull throat was incredibly impressive.
Lui, FFS Salford sign him up, ran the show and was pretty imperious, at a time when some other teams are obviously struggling for a quality play maker (and sure Leeds will lose McGuire to retirement at the end of the season) he will become a hot commodity if we don't.
Said before I am not Johnsons biggest fan but he is having a storming season, can't think of many faster than him in the league and he appears to have bulked up enough to bullock his way through tackles now also.
Can't think of a better prop in the league currently than CK, really could see him getting a sniff of a GB spot if the powers that be hadn't bolloxed up the international scene.
Think the scary thing for the opposition is we look like we have attacking threats right across the park, even our forwards look like they are capable of beating a man and going for the stripe.
As for the strength in depth we have it but not quite as deep as some others, fingers crossed we make it through the crazy Easter period (a disgrace that Catalan get to play Wednesday night giving them that vital 2 days extra rest) with a minimum 2 points and no serious injuries, win 2 from 2 and I'll be happy to say we've made the top 8 for sure already.

This is one of my biggest pet peeves. Watching a team for a long time doesn't justify anything. I know a guy whose watched Salford for 40+ years and still talks toss. Time justifyies nothing!!

Quite agree with you. however during that 62 years I played under the unlimited tackles the 3,5 and 10 yard. the 4 and six tackles. I went on to pass the referee exam, this is where you have to know the laws of the game, Not many players and spectators know them, that's one of the reasons referees get called during games by people who think they know the RULES. I do admit refs get a fair few things wrong.I refereed in the amateur game for 20 years and Touch judged at professional games. I also got my coaches badges. I am not trying to be a smart ar?e but just showing that I have a bit of experience of knowing the game

Jeezo, the things we put ourselves through eh?
Before this descends into anything unpleasant though, I think the point was probably more that it was indeed one of the Sky commentators who was talking about our forwards being knackered after 20 minutes, completely missing the obvious (smart) tactic of giving them a breather and letting the backs run it out. The defending in the last 5 minutes while down to 12 men made it patently obvious that our fitness is pretty good

62 years though... that's a lot of pain and misery to encounter! Yeah so when we win it is a cherished moment. Was lucky enough to see the 60/70 team, the quality street gang A PS to my other post, Not trying to upset or fall out with anyone, and everyone is entitled to their opinion which I appreciate
