One thing that I feel that is totally unacceptable is why Love Rugby League via Aaron Bower should have advance sighting of the presentaion presumably before all the clubs have seen it. I cannot possibly see that anybody from the Salford Red Devils releasing the information so who is it?

Would like to know more about this statement and how factual it actually is... "However, rival teams have already been offered Salford players by multiple agents across the sport" With regards today's meeting I just hope the club nail their presentation and cover every base possible and any decisions made by our "friends" in SL aren't because of an oversight/admin error on our behalf. Whatever the cash flow issue is they can't be vague. Whilst I'm no businessman I'd expect to see something along the lines of... "We've asked for an advance of £500k to cover costs which we are currently struggling to meet as we are "x £'s" short on where we should be because... A) Stadium deal delayed due to... (Peel, Garrido, Council). We were initially told this would be signed off in March/April and have lost "x" amount of forecast revenue since that date. B) Reneging of promises on income from food & drink concessions C) Loss of matched funding/government top up from share scheme (£700k+ IIRC) due to stadium not being signed off by last April (I think that was the deadline for the matched funding) D) Commercial deals worth "£££" with "X supplier" have been agreed in principle but are 100% dependent on stadium being owned. E) Big screen worth "x" £'s over the next "x" years cannot be bought/sponsored until stadium signed off. E) Nene, Marsters, Hill, Bullock etc were signed based on projections that we would have "x" income available to spend (based on the above). They are part of our overall budget, which is in line with the increased revenue expected from 2025 and this hasn't been inflated based on imaginary deals/forecasts that don't exist (Real Madrid/Man City type deals) Ok so that's probably not been worded too well as I'm posting from work but if the club can articulate this without fabricating/fluffing things up that's all we can do. Don't get me wrong, if the club have lied about supposed deals/new revenue streams and been reckless I'd be majorly pissed off but I genuinely don't believe they would do that (but hey maybe I'm naive!🤷♂️).

So today’s meeting has been cancelled for some reason. I think it’s the fairest way the RFL make the decision rather than the other clubs.

It could be worse we could have the Glazers. Then we would be in the mire.

So the news of the cancellation comes via a Leeds report 🤯 We need a statement from the club as to what the hell is happening. I will follow Salford wherever they end up but this total silence from the club is ridiculous. The players who have signed and all the existing staff must want the same information unless they already know ?

The first part of this is the clubs shifting responsibility and almost certainly the blame of what goes down onto the RFL.
This is both stupid and clearly avoiding the fallout.
That suggests there is something in place they don't want to be associated with.
We could make a few guesses here ......
When you ask for an advance you are not asking for extra to what other clubs get or more than your fair share and it is not in anyway a loan with interest to be paid.
Either the Sky money is there or it isn't ( ask where it is then!) or RL wants to save SRD or they don't ( so we'll be quite clear about where we stand and our imminent departure from the sport).
The fact that LoveRL are reporting the alternatives as routine, perfectly normal and acceptable is as much a reflection of how they feel about us the fans as it does about how they view SRD.

The cynic in me thinks the clubs passing this on to RFL is to create a delay (knowing the RFL can't organise anything quickly) to put time pressure on SRD to make them more likely to sell their best assets, as in - best players.

or it suggests that, if they vote against it then immediately seek to benefit from their own decision it could be subject to a legal challenge due to their vested interests. handing the decision over to the 'impartial' RFL helps them to be able to protest their innocence. of course, all of this is still more speculation from the same s**t stirrer that is behind every other article that's been published on the subject. Would be interesting to know who is behind him...

Of course they are, their motivation and reasoning is obvious. Unlike those vultures in nature these ones won't wait for the prey to stop breathing or moving! I learned on Total the real meaning of the Rugby League Family and this just sums that up.

"This has been agreed on the condition of central involvement in and scrutiny of a more sustainable long-term trading position for Salford Red Devils" maybe they could add in some scrutiny to see whether any of the approaches from other clubs that are alleged by everyone's favourite Yorkshire 'journalist' to have been made to contracted players' agents breached any of the regulations on tapping up or the potential to exert undue influence while they are at it. I'll not hold my breath on that front though
