Who remembers 'The Tea Hut' at the Weaste cricket end of the Willows and being served by Janet with boiling hot Oxo in a thin white plastic cup that burnt your friggin fingers before having to drop it? I never had another, it was Vimto after that. I do and I haven’t had an oxo since.

First went in the place in 1955 happy days,it's where you booked the coach for away games. They would walk round the with a blanket people would throwing money Usually for someone's testimonial. I can still see the fastest man I have ever seen in a Salford shirt,The Australian Wally McArthur going the full length of Headingley for us to draw 25 all.Wonderfull memories.

Jesus, I'm 45 and struggle to remember a Wimpy on the "Precy"! IIRC it may have been on the car park side where the posh/expensive chippy is now?🤔 I do remember the 50p shop on Cheetham Hill Road though.😎 The Wimpy is not their anymore, the shop is still an eatery with same owner. One of my work colleagues, a Danish woman, remembers visiting it when her sister lived nearby while at Salford University, She won't have her burgers without pineapple as Wimpy used to do a Hawaian burger, We are currently in Glasgow on a Training, /Piss up course There are some areas outside of the City Centre that make the Precinct look middle class, Think of the Bars and eatiries Didsbury & Withington .

[br Great images Dixon 13, thank you so much, the 50's are before my time some what but I would love to know more. I first went to the Willows in 66 and fell in love with everything about it, even if there was only a crowd of 500. Its funny how we walk into some places that others revere and its completely cold to us and yet some places we visit, just grab us forever?
