I thought our first set of six at the start of the game turned out to be our best set. After that things went downhill despite our efforts. Too many errors killed us. We had chances to score, particularly in the first half, but failed to take them. The Burgess knock on chance in the first half was the sort we were taking every time in the second half of last season. Hull KR did a good job on us. There were no frills from them but their forwards got on top and their kicking game caused us problems. If we reduce the number of mistakes (which shouldn't be too difficult) we can compete much more effectively than we did lasty night.

I feared the worst after half an hour, being on top of them and only four points scored. Second half performance was dire. As mentioned, if we play like that at Warrington, it will be like chucking pies to Harry Brook - we will go for plenty.

My god, the negativity on here 🤦♂️🤣 it’s one game lads. Things will start to click. We just need to stay in the race and peak later in the season (as we did last year).

But I'm afraid that's sort of the straw and the camel, one disappointment too many, in many thousands.

Typical early season game for me, missed tackles, handling errors, set play confusion and defensive line like a dogs leg at time. I have no worries whatsoever it will all come good.

Undeniably disappointing, but no need for the panic! Rugby is a simple game, complete your sets, avoid penalties, avoid silly errors. KR were solid and well drilled and did all of that, we didn’t. Too much daft play, no respect for the ball. Agree about the prop though, Sam Luckley had way too much fun

Last night wasn't pretty but we've been here before and we'll bounce back. Maybe expectations wil love lowered for next week now but we've had some decent results against Wire so it wouldn't surprise me if we went there and won (although we'll need to contain their pack a lot better!).
One thing that really disappointed me last night was the lack of passion in the stands. I was in my usual slot to the right of the sticks in the South Stand and there were barely a couple of us trying to get any atmosphere going (outside of the core noise makers right behind/to the left of the sticks).
Now I'm not saying atmosphere wins matches but we were every bit as poor as the players last night and we need to raise our game. It's fine getting all the plaudits for our noisy away support but there's no excuse for us to go into hiding at home games.

Know one wants the team to win more than me its a new season every club starts with a clean slate last seasons effort counts for nothing Not posotive or negative just my take on last night if you look at all the posts so far one went as far as embarrassing another one a must win. They are entitled to their opinion I am entitled to mine you have yours it's different to mine so we will leave it at that

Remember Dixon it could be worse; you could be supporting Wakefield or even the Champions Elect ( according to their coach) Huddersfield

When you look at what Wigan did to Wakefield then compare that to what ZkR did to Wigan it gives some insight into our performance
KR play Oz rugby…close hard tackling ( with the line near or offside a lot of the time but non given and slowing down the ptb) but solid, 5 runs and a punt. Of course they’ve got a guy who can hammer the ball. They also seemed to run a lot at Ackers and Croft
We of course play open rugby, and would probably have won if the Ackers break was backed or the odd fumble didn’t happen. But KR play the percentage Oz game, pressure all thro the match til our dam broke. They stifled Wigan but Wakefield stood off, which was the difference.
I don’t think we respected them as we should, we should have played positional pressure RL for 15 min in the second half but it’s a learning curve and perhaps our defence has to be a bit faster and tougher and we have to earn our right to win by playing a bit more for field position as we did against Leigh
Warrington will be interesting as it looks to be their year😉
Looking at it again, I don’t think the ref was strong enough with their line or their ptb play.

I agree re the Ref not being strong enough. We deserved to get beat and not for one second am I blaming the ref. I haven't watched the game back yet but i dont recall us getting a single penalty in the second half ?
we may have done but if not then i refuse to accept that a team is so well disciplined they dont concede a penalty for 40 minutes.

There's definitely been inconsistency in the games I've watched this year. Not just between games but from the red in the same game. PTB infringements and offsides are the most obvious. And I must have missed the law changed that says forward passes are oka... Sky commentators never mention them now, at least on channel four they pointed out where they thought forward passes weren't given.
What's really annoying me is how they still haven't stamped down on every player on every team being offside on their goal line. Show me one player who has both feet on the line... not only that but the defensive players around the PTB are neither square or onside. The worst though has to be scrums. They are embarrassing. Just hold the ball with your foot and you are all but guaranteed a penalty for offside. The refs never have them pack properly and the second rowers have a huge gap between them and the loose forward inside binding in any way, on either side. "Get in, bind" is totally ignored. They are practically always uncontested (I'm not against this as I think they are dangerous) so just get rid of them. If they are being kept, at least make the payers pack properly.

I think the main difference between our refs and Oz refs is that Oz refs penalise continual offside, forwards passes obstruction etc and tell those round the ptb to sort things out whereas a lot of ours are constantly picking at the ptb/ ruck and miss, what appears to be consistent offside forward passes etc.
