I thought KR looked impressive down the middle and defensively in the opponents half. They off loaded well at times. But conservative hear the line and agree they looked more frail in defence on the edges. It will be a really tough challenge on Thursday

Wigan scored 4 tries without much field position which gives me confidence that our edges can score 5/6 tries on Thursday, if we complete and limit penalties. Wigan seemed to constantly give away penalties - a lot of six again sets, and they also lost the ball several times while in possession. I thought Wigan were lucky to still be in the game in the last 10 minutes as it's seemed the entire second half was played in Wigan's half. Our defence was great against Leigh but Hull KR have more quality and SL experience. I thought bk the game will be won on the edges and I back us there and in the halves.

I think most of Wigans problems came from being bullied by the KR pack. KR forwards on top for most of the match which led to Wigan being trapped in own half, the penalties and six agains. Thought KR got more 50/50s and bounces of the ball. Some of the Wigan yanking errors were unforced which we can do better about.
I suspect they will have watched how we defended against Leigh and much of last season and think a long ball over the top of a grubber kick will be the way to get us and they have players who can do that.
But if we can match their pack we can definitely do them in the backs. It is encouraging that KR didn’t take advantage of the extra territory. Think we will kick more goals than Wigan too. Could have been 18-12/13 at half time and closer at the end with better kicking

Strange with penalties that in Oz there are few penalties around the ruck but in SL, instead of refs talking more and getting the game to flow they are really picky around that area. Kendall certainly like that and Smith appeared that way on Fri. Think Wigan suffered a bit that way.

If we have any aspirations to better last seasons efforts then we should be beating KR at home it is a must win. For me if you keep Coote quiet and stop Parcell running from Dummy half then that is half the battle won. Need our forwards firing in the first 20 mins, we were slow out of the blocks v Leigh.

Abdull is a huge threat with his kicking in general play. Must be closed down early.

According to Rowley
Burgess might be back for KR Sidlow possibly for Warrington Addy and Dixon, 2/3 weeks
Sio wasn’t fully fit for Leigh but came thro; no other injuries
Think because of the lack of info, Sarginson has probably gone or going

Looks good. And 4 good forwards ready soon but because of the Sarge situation possibly a bit light on backs cover; might have to use Longstaff and Watkins for cover
