Nothing from the Club still but presumably we’ll hear something when they want some money from the share type scheme …or am I just a cynic🤣 or maybe a pragmatist JJR maybe the club don't know anymore than you have read,or should they come out and say JJR you have just read what we know,so now you know what we know.

If this is the Weekly Quiz question D I haven’t a clue😉 If the Club aren’t around the negotiating table and don’t know more than me, then we are in a real pickle.

This really worried me. It feels like a short-term stay of execution for us. My first thought is why are the council buying the stadium to then give Sale a purchase option, surely they can link up with Salford FC for finance?
When I first heard they were buying the stadium my hope was that it became a real community asset. If not, why the purchase? I'd love to see us and Salford FC share the home and if fixtures allow then bring in Swinton too. These clubs are a part of Salford, Sale isn't.
I was also hopeful we might see more events there. Boxing, MMA, smaller concerts etc. How good would a yearly event be where we had a weekend dedicated to local musicians - have local bands and singers perform. A mini-fesitval if you like. Plus other yearly events for the people of Salford. These events could be used to promote the local teams and a chance for player engagement. Each event could attract different sponsors and attract local, possibly some national, media attention. If we had a quality artificial type of turf, not like Wakey, Widnes seem to play okay on one, then the stadium could be used for the community when not in use, such are some evenings for five-a-side, touch rugby, etc. There are lots of ways to bring money to the stadium.
Now, I just fear that Sale will buy the stadium and we'll be out

What bothers me is why the Club didn’t link with Gerrard and others

RR of course you’re close to the hub of things…but we all know the answer
The Club would’ve been at ML without Gerrard, MTR and the ST.

Without gerrard?!they asked him what is offer was he didn’t give one, they asked him what his plans were he never met with council they asked him to he wouldn’t meet so what did gerrard do?!I could have tweeted a couple of things like he did with no substance it’s quite laughable really!as for club yes they looked at moor lane when no option then started talking again as realised moor lane was not an option they have clearly stated it wasn’t an option when they looked at it but that does not fit jjr agenda it seems!

Good to see you’re in all the meetings LH and you’re easily fooled by the mist…and good to see you give Gerrard zero credit…it must have been th3 Club that suddenly changed tack and didn’t want to go to ML
Well I just watched the video at ML and I wasn’t overly impressed.

Not fooled by any mist!and certainly not fooled by Gerard’s bullshit which the council saw through,so what do we give gerrard credit for?!a couple of tweets and some interview on radio Manchester?when the council asked him to show them the money he ignored them there the facts!I do think the club should be more transparent and I don’t think they help themselves with certain things but they are trying and if anyone can help or do better come forward!

RR of course you’re close to the hub of things…but we all know the answer The Club would’ve been at ML without Gerrard, MTR and the ST. Close to nothing, just actually think those running the club are doing a splendid job and the club as a whole is in a far better position than it has been for many many years! You seem to have some weird vendetta against the board and in particular Paul King. It’s actually pretty sad that you have this infatuation with him. Has he run over your cat or something? It’s been explained countless times by many people why we looked at Moor Lane. Had you watched the fans forum that is available on RDTV you to would understand but that wouldn’t fit your weird fascination.

Not been on here for a long time due to the inane ramblings of certain people and one in particular. What people have to realise is that Salford Council are a business and have to make money. Salford RLFC have paid a pittance of rent for years and it looks like the council have had enough. Sale were on TV the other day and packed out the stadium we struggled to 5.5 K for the first home game with a load of freebies. Salford people don’t support the club which has been the situation for years. This has been coming and I am not surprised. Wherever we end up in the future I will still be there.

Sale have had one game where they have packed out the stadium and that was on TV, look at their average crowds last year, plus they do very little for our Cities communities, the stadium is used mainly by them on match days, like other Union clubs they also have very significant debt. So them eventually buying the ground would require a significant cash injection. Would them owning the stadium benefit the City of Salford?
Rather than judge the clubs board I'd suggest waiting to see what the councils plan actually is. Going through a due diligence process with two parties (Sale/FC and Gerrard) and rejecting both makes no sense in terms of the council buying Peel out then walking away a couple of years later, its not worth their time. There must be a rationale behind their planning to make this work, as BDB points out the possibilities for a Salford Community Stadium are endless.
In the press release for the stadiums future both Sale and Salford have been promised more control of the stadium sales on a match day, lets see what this means once its clarified. We need colour here on what the future holds.
At least the horror show that was a possible move to Moor Lane is well off the table.
