JJR I am not sure what Paul King being a pal of or associated with Gary Neville has to do with this speculation on the stadiums future. Nicky Butt is now in charge of FC.
Moor Lane is not being touted here at all. It is simply that there is a bit of press and a tweet from Blease about Sale Sharks and their commercial arrangements none of which has been validated formally. Does this impact Salford?? We just do not know.
The position as it standards is we are staying at the stadium long term and Salford Council will be the owners. Lets see what the club says or the Supporters Trust gets told, this thread should not even mention the Moor Lane, it is off the table completely as per the reported news before Xmas.
As for Gerrard one can only assume his bid was rejected much like Sale / FC's was.
Hopefully the club or council will comment in the coming days on the state of play.

Aye but those who know how Sale treated Stockport will worry.
As normal, uncertainty breeds concern and hypothesis. Do Wigan and Saints fans suffer from high blood pressure.

JJR your going all X files and conspiracy theorist on us, I doubt it is anyone's will least of all Mr King's is to want to end up at Moor Lane in a few years. If Sale with more fans and monies to spend have a better deal on the stadium tenancy moving forward then I get that it is businesses. As long as we remain at the stadium with the IMG criteria looming then that is what matters. That said as a supposed Community Trust the Supporters Trust should have input where viable and represent the voice of the fan on such matters.

I agree all this speculation is meaningless - Blease has stated in the press we will be playing Rugby at the current stadium we all campaigned hard for. It may be that Sale have more to barter with then Salford on the lease. There was supposed to be a statement on the ground a month or so back from the club. Like everything to do with the stadium issue it has dragged on and on. BTW a voice of the fans from the Supporters Trust is a great idea especially if we are a community club.

I have already said it could be us and Sale,if we are safe guarded I couldn't care less If Sale own the ground. As for Moor Lane that as been put to bed,at this moment we should be be more concerned about what is happening on the pitch. Sale fans don't know anymore more than we do and that's not much.

I don’t understand where the notion that the board want to move to Moor Lane. Think it’s pretty much a given that in an ideal world we would own the Salford Stadium. During the time when the bid from sale was first mentioned the club gave 3 options…. Remain at the AJ Bell knowing that if it was purchased rent would likely increase beyond what we could have afforded. Then we would have no home or need to reduce the wage budget Move to Moor Lane with favourable rent Move out of the city to another stadium somewhere. Given those 3 options where would everyone else see us? The Gerrard bid came in very late, seems to have no interest in the club was purely down to the stadium and how he could have made money, hence the mention of horse events amongst other things. Gone remarkably quiet since November RR both the Sale / FC and Gerrard Bids for the stadium were rejected by Salford City Council as the bids did not fulfil our councils ambition for the stadium moving forward hence the Council wanting to buy the AJ Bell stadium now. As Gerrard has been told No, he's probably downed tools as far as the stadium purchase bid is concerned although its not commented in the media. So who knows? Salford Council hold the cards on the stadium it seems. Thus it is for Sale / Salford to negotiate their futures at the stadium.

My concern here is the option to buy after leasing for three years. I have no problem with ground sharing with Sale. The problem with Sale is when they are in control of things, ask Stockport County. If they gain ultimate control of the ground in the near future then I can safely say it'll be goodbye Salford Red Devils. With the IMG thing upon us it is the last thing we really need.
Looks like we may only have three to four years to win that silverware.
This isn't doom and gloom by the way, this will be the cold reality.

Paul I take on board what you say, but this as all come about because someone saw something somewhere we have had nothing from Sale or the club about the future I think we should all wait until we have a statement from the club At this moment in time I am more concerned that we get enough points on the board so that we will be in this league next season.

I agree Dixon - however the Council selling the stadium on quickly (Next few years) would be a cope out, why buy it in the first place then? there's no point to that just select a bidder. SCC must have a plan around the facility to want to buy it in the first place.

Just read it; lots of mixed messages, presumably just pulling up bits from the past
Heard that the Sale deal is on…so we’re time limited

Nothing from the Club still but presumably we’ll hear something when they want some money from the share type scheme …or am I just a cynic🤣 or maybe a pragmatist
