Interesting summary, the dump that is Moor Lane raised again, I'm sure Salford City FC would be viable in the Salford Community Stadium with a massive 1,500 fans. That is nonsense. What is more concerning is the absolutely alarming remarks Tory Wanka Garrido makes about our club yet again. He is using Salford Red Devils as a topic to undermine the City Mayor. Vote Tory Scum Garrido Out next time residents of Worsley. Glad to see Mr King and Co on point with their numbers and comments.

Strange Paul King saying it would be a disaster moving to ML.when he pushed for that move, via the Hobsons Choice Poll, and was videoed with Neville at ML when Neville was pushing for the AJ move
Pity Salford Swinton Salford FC can’t play together at the AJ and Sale move to Peston or somewhere they’re appreciated and would fit in with their community.

The potential move to ML was predicated on £ms of council funding to increase capacity and reconfigure the stadium to meet RFL criteria. Once that £number was understood then it became clear that this option was no longer affordable or desirable for us or the council. The conversations have been so fluid over the last 2 years it would be wrong to say that PK was keen on a move to ML and had discounted staying at CoS stadium.

Obviously a new Committee member now Pete
Only option stated until Gerrard stirred the water, for whom I’ll be forever grateful

Obviously a new Committee member now Pete Only option stated until Gerrard stirred the water, for whom I’ll be forever grateful Not at all John, that structure has yet to be determined but as the Chair of the Supporters Trust for 3 years inevitably you get involved in conversations. Ultimately IMG’s involvement was the game changer and focussed minds on a securer future

We’re all relieved Gerrard stepped in with a bid or it would have been ML . I’ve never met anybody who supported that move…it’d have been the end…amazed as most were that it was even considered.; except Neville who I heard was rubbing his hands.

I was under the impression that at the beginning Paul King was saying it was Moor Lane we could not stay at the AJB we could go to the Etihad if that was the fans wish he would be leaving the club.

It was 'suggested' to me that Salford City Council reneged on their initial acceptance of the Sale Sharks / Salford City FC combined purchase as they were then going to buy out Peel Holdings share of the stadium and subsequently sell it onto Manchester United who would then utilise the ground for their Under 23 and Women's teams as well as guaranteeing Salford Red Devils future tenure at the ground. If this is still the case then why don't Salford City Council just come out and confirm this to put an end to all the speculation as well as getting the Conservative opposition to the purchase off their backs. Or maybe Manchester United have changed their minds in the meantime and everything is back to square one?

Dixon, I live miles away, so I will preface what I say with an apology in case I am wrong. I never got the impression that PK was pushing for Moor Lane. I always felt that he was looking at the situation we were in and analysing all the ways forward we could think of. We had no money. We couldn't even pay the rent. We were possibly facing eviction. Our crowds were 3-4 thousand. In those circumstances, relocation had to be examined. Moor Lane was one possibility, the Etihad was another, even Gigg Lane was suggested. As CEO, he had to look at all possibilities, he would have been remiss not to do so. The result is a much more stable situation. We are not 100% secure, but we are in better shape than we were. The job is half done. Let's press on.

Whether it can be described as pushing for Moor lane or not. The way I remember it the vote was presented to us as Moor Lane or a slow lingering death at the AJB due to the fact the rent would increase to a market rate we would not be able to operate with when others bought the stadium. The other option of moving outside of Salford surely a non starter. With the Information we were provide with prior to the vote, was it not the only option.
It's no criticism of Paul King or the board as that was the situation then. If someone else had bought the stadium and increased the rent could we have survived. After the vote I was resigned to going to Moor Lane but from my memory and admittedly I'm just a fan looking on from outside. The situation did certainly seem to change once Gerrard got involved, whether his bid was genuinely realistic or not the conversation did seem to change at that point, perhaps a coincidence but that's the way I remember it.
Anyway hopefully the council can resolve the Garrido situation sooner rather than later and we can all move on
