Rowley would be great for a couple of years with a good Assistant like Briers taking over in the future; got to have continuity to do well consistently Briers must be in there somewhere. An advantage with Paul is he knows how the club operates

Hang on a moment, I remember reading on this very site by a lot of respected posters that Rowleys Leigh and more recently toronto were thug sides and were always really dirty (which they were)? Correct me if I'm wrong but then he got involved on the Salford coaching team and it all went quiet, now he's the new Messiah? Granted he knows the set up but is he really the right choice? Is that the side we want to be?

So picking up a few trends: 1Paul Rowley ( knows the club but unproven in SL, Leigh and Toronto v different to our set up) 2 Danny Orr joins Powell at Warrington and we get Andrew Henderson with Lee Briers as assistant ( unproven in SL) 3 Danny Ward ( like Rowley knows his stuff but couldn’t do it consistently in SL) 4 Shaun Wane (never going to happen, doubts we can afford it) 5 Brian McDermott. ( big no from Salford faithful and look at Oldham’s form since he joined them)

All the names that have come up so far , apart from Cartwright are a no for me,
Same old names every time a job comes up, same old tactics used but just a different club,
We need to step out of the box, For me i would look at the Walker Brothers in Aus, did a very good job for Ipswich Jets, or see if there is a young Aussie coach looking to step up, it cant do any harm, better than same old names same old tactics,
But most of all we need to finish in the top 10 next season otherwise we will not be in super league next season, if they go down to 10 teams.

Don't know too much about the walker brothers, but they been mentioned before From what I've seen, they get the team playing really crisp rugby.

Was it any coincidence that the team improved when Rowley joined the coaching setup back in 2019? We've certainly gone backwards since he was no longer involved with the coaching but how much of this was down to his input or other factors I don't know. I suppose we'll only find out if he gets the job. What I did hear was he was very well respected by the players. Could it have been Richard Marshall's biggest mistake at Salford not keeping him on?

Hastings recently was singing his praises on social media. So you could be right on that one.

Redrum's makes some valid comments about Rowley's coaching style. His teams' discipline left a lot to be desired at times

Does he want it, does he need the stress. Certainly should be there in some capacity.
His ‘coaching style’; we’ll probably our worst disciplinary season ever, in terms of cards and penalties, and so could it get worse?

I think poor discipline is something that generally occurs when teams are trying to compensate for being dominated or outclassed by the opposition. It usually stems from fatigue, desperation or frustration.
