I don’t think removing the coach after half a dozen games is the answer. There are players out there who don’t look interested and who are failing to complete absolute basics. Marshall has a right to expect at this level that his troops will bring a certain level to the table before he does anything with them.
That said, he hasn’t helped his cause by chopping and changing since he joined. Send out the same XIII (injuries permitting) for the next half dozen games and then we can start to form a better view.

Exactly, why is he changing the team when he doesn’t need to? I’m no fan of Patton but why drop him for Atkins, who was poor, although not the worst. Watkins doesn’t look interested, defence is terrible. In fact it’s easier to say who came out with any credit. Can only really say I thought Wells put a shift in, Luckley looked ok. Livett til he got injured. Worryingly poor, feels like we’re dying as a club in front of our eyes.

I know we were woeful but lets keep comments sensible.
The Coach - Well after the Wigan & Castleford matches I really saw some improvement.
So I will cut him some slack today as 7 of our First 13 were absent. Burgess Sarge, Brown, Moose, Ackers, Pauli & Greenwood.
Of course this is a weak excuse as we had 7 replacements but sadly there was a gulf between the abilities of the missing 7 and the substitutes.
To those who want to sack RM I will again reiterate - where does the money come from? So talk sense and unless he walks then he has to stay and we should support him.

Its players who should start supporting him people can only offer an opinion on what they see.I don't know if he is still there but if Rowley is I would get him involved. We are now in a relegation scrap, anyone who thinks other wise,is delusional in my humble opinion.

Let’s be honest the season is gone, as are several key players that left us last year and a coach that galvanised us into a team that could fight above their weight. Changing the coach now will achieve nothing and just put a further strain on the clubs finances. It’s painful I know comparing this situation at the moment to the past couple of years but clubs go through these tough periods but eventually If you collectively work hard enough you come out the other side. It’s probably going to get a lot worse before it gets better but if the players buy in and the club supports the coach eventually we will turn a corner and be much stronger for the adversity and difficult experience. The key now is making sure everyone remains fully committed and ultimately having the aim of staying in SL this year. If this happens and the club recruits the right players in the right positions to strengthen us for 2022 we can kick on again. Lose focus, enthusiasm and effort now and we’ll be in the championship with an extremely tough road back. Everyone needs to pull in the right direction.. board, coaching staff, players and supporters. Let’s all get behind the the club it needs everyone right now more than ever.

I think RM has had the benefit of the doubt so far and I don't think it's unreasonable for fans to start scrutinising his ability with this group of players. He's been hired to maximise the potential of this group of players and in that regard he's currently failing. Failure becomes a habit and it's affect on players is severe.
He needs to weave some magic because the arse is falling out of this at a rapid rate of knots...

I can recall many fans wanting Ian Watson sacked in his first season.

We’ve been here before, it’s not the worst defeat we’ve ever had and if we keep them out before half time and again just after it could be a different game. But this does feel different than past years, partly because of how good we’ve had it recently. But also with everything else going on around the club, it feels really negative. Since Watto left to me if feels a little like that King and Blease aren’t the same, a bit of the belief and maybe even desire have gone. Not being negative I think they are both brilliant, but I feel Watto pulled the rug from under them and it was a bitter blow. Throw in the Stadium concerns and the fact it seems we can’t even sell 2818 tickets for 2 games against our near rivals after 14 months of no rl, and it’s a very worrying time. Am probably (hopefully!) over reacting, beat KR in a few weeks and I’m sure i won’t feel the same 😊

After sleeping on it just a few points from last night
Austin and Widdop had a field day running out wide at their opposite numbers Atkin and Lolohea as well as the two second rows Roberts and Lannon who were also ran over by King and Mamo - I know they probably aren’t our starters but they are also full time professionals who get paid to do that job
We had no leaders in my eyes which is why we were getting tackled on the 5th play , passing balls to people who weren’t expecting it and generally winging it
I’m hoping we made the decision not to risk some players and instead try to get them back for the KR game in 2 weeks
The coach isn’t filling me with much hope though , he seems flat , doesn’t know his best team , strange moves like Elijah Taylor to 9 , doesn’t seem to inspire the players

I can recall many fans wanting Ian Watson sacked in his first season. I think Watson was always capable of seeing how to dig his team out of the trenches, and his team was always more organised and focused. Looked more likely to turn the corner. That's the difference here. Marshall's team looks lost and incapable of finding a shovel let alone dig itself out. I've not seen a Salford side look so disjointed, flat, and rudderless continually. We know we have talented players in the ranks so it isn't down to individuals, it's down to how the team is trained, focused and motivated. I'm at a loss to see the effect of a new regime at the helm. The team is going backwards, and I'd really love to know what actually goes on in training to be honest. I've played the game inside a professional club, albeit many moons ago, and us fans are not aware of all the ins and outs, struggles, and behind the scenes machinations that go towards how the club as a whole succeeds or doesn't. As an outsider looking in it looks like there's something not right there. Maybe I'm wrong. But internal problems, player problems, coaching problems tend to manifest themselves on the pitch in some way. I think we're seeing that at the moment.

In essence, the team is less than the sum of its parts.

I thought last night’s performance was unacceptable.
Had Sarginson, Burgess, Brown, Mossop, Ackers, Addy and Pauli Pauli been available they would probably have played so we short of a few regulars. But to concede sixty points for the first time since 2018 was alarming. We seemed clueless at times. When Warrington’s big men ran straight we coped with that but conceded lots of yards. If they moved the ball wider to their backs we were mesmerised. I know their half backs are very talented but we failed to sort out our defensive line so that we were outnumbered far too often. Our attacks tended to rely on hopeful kicks. Very worrying.
Our forwards were totally outplayed. We never had a platform to perform on. One of the few positives was that after conceding eighteen points in the first quarter of an hour or so, we did almost get back in the game at 12 - 20 but when we conceded 12 points in a couple of minutes either side of half time we were dead in the water!
One positive was Sam Luckley who looks like he could do more and individually I thought we saw effort from Sio, Watkins, Livett and Williams, but effort alone is not enough if there is no semblance of collective team work. When Warrington attacked their whole attacking line moved up together in a structured way whereas ours tended to watch the ball carrier run into tackles.
The people who are supposed to organise our attacking and defensive structures need to do just that so that when newcomers come into the team they know what to do. Last night was nowhere near good enough.
