How do you motivate the team for this ? I think the Hull KR result ruled us out of a play off spot, will a push for the top 5/6 be enough motivation ? Team selection will be interesting too with such in intense few days ahead. Wigan on Friday, Saints Monday & Warrington Friday.

I expect a hammering, it happens almost every time after teams have been in a CC final. Can’t get relegated and can’t reach the top 4 so what motivation is there ?

Will Wigan have enough players I wonder. Will be interesting to see how we respond, full strength I think we’re not far away from them if at all, as the last game showed Does anyone know how many games we’re supposed to have left? Is it even mathematically possible to finish top 4? We’ve got a very rough run and Leeds a pretty easy one, but historically the cup winners go on a slump. Clinging on to any hope

six games left - Wigan, saints, Warrington, Wakefield Castleford & Hull KR. Even if we win all 6 we'd get 57 % - Catalans in 4th now at 66%, Leeds in 5th at 61%. So it's possible if we win all six and those above us lose a couple.

Tough ask, very tough, but do-able and as such we should be up for it. Such a shame we lost out to KR last week

You gain points, they stay as they are. In these new conditions, you beat a team ahead of you. You gain percentage, they lose percentage so it counts more. Forgive me if that’s obvious to everybody else but I’ve only just realised. Its irrelevant because we won’t make the playoffs anyway 😉

Not got a chance of the play offs.
I'd give Atkins and the young hooker plenty of game time and also rotate the back row options as it seems to me we're top heavy and should off load.
Above all I'd play PP as a starting prop and see if he's going to be worth keeping to cover for Dudson leaving.
I'd also play the 2 Ottawa lads and see if any are worth taking, as was mentioned elsewhere they'll have a SL clause in their contracts.

I suspect we'll put the effort in as always but can't see us being able to muster a winning performance post-CC Final. Be great to see a few fringe players get more game time.
I know we often refer to the fact they are professional sportsman who in the grand scheme of things are reasonably well paid to do something many would do for free, but I really do pity what Super League players are having to put themselves through at present - especially with our upcoming fixture list.

The emotional effects of winning or losing at a CC Final are hard, they've been hard enough on us. It's difficult to know what to expect though.
There are obviously a few players in the squad who weren't there and didn't play and the suggestions above of using them is available.
The odds od getting anywhere near a top 4 finish are a bookies perfect dream.
Even if they no longer wish to play for us many of those players need a contract and are in the shop window so that's motivation enough in itself. Mind you Watto won't let them relax either.

I would want Brown playing. He was hurting so much after the final he needs a chance to get it out of his system
I think we might win this one. We will be fired up after the nature of the loss
