Ray Warren is imperious in RL for me,I'd love to have him and Vossy commentate together. Peter Alliss is always top notch (sadly age has kind of caught up with him), 1 of the funniest moments (but terribly un PC) I've ever seen was when a golf buggy full of Japanese cameramen in a buggy at the Open that hit a bump that made them jump out of their seats, quick as a flash Alliss says 'there's a nip in the air today'. How could I forget the master of them all??
My Dear Old Thing Blowers, how someone can talk about buses and pigeons and keep your attention is beyond me, when he was on air with Bumble it was as funny as any comedy sketch.

Yes generally knowledgable educated people with something to say and a sense of humour
Now we have to have gender ethnic age spike, whatever etc balance and the end result is rubbish commentaries.
I was on a long journey and it coincided with an international 20:20 so I thought be nice listening to the match. Turned it on and the female commentator from Surrey was on with a female Oz summariser. Both talked incessantly about their opininions not the match, had to turn it off. What happened to Boycott Blowers , etc
It's not that they're female Clare Balding Hazel Inrvine great, if was we have to have balance in cricket commentary teams but sadly imbalance in quality.

Bonitared I read John Arlot's Autobiography many year ago. He said a good commentator was one who made people think they new something about,what was being comontated on,which they invariably did. |

Greenwood knew exactly what he was doing when he lined Lees up, especially when it was the first tackle after a bit of a dust up. Still a team of grubby f*ckers as well are Wigan. Taunting players after mistakes and getting in their faces... would love to see Hardaker get knocked out one of these days!👊😂 |

Yes guy gets a yellow for kicking the ball away for Huddersfield. . ISA gets away with 2 yellows, Greenwood def a red.
Yes Kendall just not good enough at this level. Hardaker will get his comeuppance, eventually they all do. Just hope I'm there to see it; a child. By far the worst ref around. 1st half the commentators applauded him for no free kicks saying he was keeping the game flowing. He just missed everything.

Superb game that. Probably the most intense SL game I’ve seen since our first game in the play offs at wigan last year
