The personal excitement effects of being in the CCF are hefty, aren't they? Now I wasn't sure about putting this here or not but Leeds must now be heavy favourites to lift the trophy. Sorry everyone! You're probably right - but Saints were the heavy favourites last year, Warrington the year before, Wigan in 1998 to name just a few..... If we play anything like we're capable of, then I don't see any reason why we can't win it. Leeds are decent on their day of course, but I don't think it's going to require a complete Leeds capitulation for us to lift the trophy. I prefer being underdogs TBH but their performances would seem to merit the tag. And I think we should be afraid of no one.

Had Warrington been in the final they’d be favourites, and we beat them (5 times ) so I’m not too concerned about who’s favourite. I think the pressure will be on Leeds, they’ll clearly be well up for it for themselves but also for Rob Burrow. Hope it’s a great game fitting of the occasion, and we win of course

Their main threat seeme to be high ball to Williams wing. Not sure if Greenwood over there with Watkins. If we can stop that and Martin I think we're ok but sadly in RL a lot down to the refs interpretation. The sin binning of Sarge seemed poor and Huddersfield were offside at the ptb all the first half and got away with it.

I don`t agree Russ. The Bookies - all of them so far - give Salford only 4 points start so that is just one score - so ALL to play for.

Yes too close to call Not v impressed with the Leeds pack last night. Yes I can understand why you say that but certain individuals up front are carrying them by being hard workers and going over and above.

Luke Gale is easily their most important player. He organises everything and directs them round the field. Hull had nobody able to control the game like him. They let him have loads of time on the ball, and it hurt them badly. Controlling Gale is the key to success.

The bookies are not wrong in terms of form but Leeds controlled a side far more than we have. Yes Gale is key but he's not the only one.

A lad I work with who's a Leeds fan actually said if we stop him and his kicking game, he actually fancies us!!

Rob Lui is also brilliant in the 25, and v strong
Article in the MEN about the rise of Salford, good mention of Dennis at the D & P.. Identifying the work done by Watto & Blease who must lead the team out, now we have no benefactor, and we must have John Wilky and Marwan there, as without them there'd be no Club. And maybe even Dennis Riley to represent the Community!

When him, Myler and Lui are on form they take some stopping. I'd like to see us make some big shots on the likes of Gale and Myler in the opening minutes and hurt them. I mentioned this on another thread but we can't afford to be behind on the scoreline against Leeds like we were against Huddersfield the other night. With the experience of the 3 players previously mentioned there is absolutely no way we'll be able to overcome a significant deficit at Wembley. Then just manage us out of the game. I honestly believe if we focus on containing Leeds' initial onslaught by not conceding any tries and playing simple rugby in the opening 20 minutes, they'll be absolutely rattled.
