Harsh on Hastings. He was behind a beaten pack but, yes,he was anonymous. 🥴 It is harsh but not far off the mark. I also agree with you but from someone who not only controlled the game and teammates, was a role model and turning up everywhere he is now playing second fiddle to two or three players depending who's on the pitch.
For the life of me I can't see why you would fight so hard to sign him and then use him wrongly.
Think you've hit the nail on the head there. Watto just let Jacko pretty much have a free rein and run the show, which is where he thrives. You'll get feck all out of him playing to a rigid structure. He just doesn't look happy at Wigan either, I don't see the kind of "family knit" watching Wigan as I see with us. Maybe it's because there's no egos at Salford and the players appreciate the new lease of life most of them have been given under Watto. There also isn't the massive burden of expectation here that you get at a club like Wigan. Maybe this should heed as a warning to Joey if he is on Wigan's radar. Yeah he'll no doubt bump up his pay packet but would he enjoy himself as he seems to playing for us?

Now the RFL are quite rightly keeping the CCF at Wembley, well done to them. They are making a point of saying so,in honour of the occasion. But they haven't postponed matches in the same week!!!

I wonder if that favours clubs with a big squad like Leeds (and Warrington🤣) or small squads like us.

If we're still breathing we'll have lived long enough to see SRD at the GF & the CCF. Do you realise that those three fings mean we won the Lotto? Sit back, post the euphoria and bask!
I just dreamed, hoped in despair for a CC final. The grand final yes it was brilliant to be there but it’s all so Sky Oz designed. This is heritage and I do wish I was there to hear abide with me and the national anthem and blubber all the way through.

They've been a pain in @rse though SRD's life at the AJB and now they're proving dangerous as well!
"I think we'll need a bigger stadium!"

As we can see from the Russ info Sio Evalds and Johnson all out with McCarthy bad stomach and Flanagan shoulder being rested. So unless Watto pulling the usual RL fast one it looks as tho Evalds out.
The good thing is that the squad is still big enough and flexible enough to absorb these injuries

Watson said in his Huddersfield pre-match interview that Evalds was out running in training and looking pretty good ‘yesterday’ - which I think would have been Tuesday. He said he might be in contention for a place in the final. But that sounded far from certain. Based on what he said I’d be very surprised if Welham doesn’t start and I always thought Watto would want him in the team. He rates him massively

Watson did say that of all the people he'd coached that Welham was the one who he rated most. I think the only reason he's not staying is the constant trip from Hull. He'll be in if fit. If they play Evalds then I would think Sarge would be on the bench, but v small odds I think.

I think Wakins might be the one on the bench. I agree though that Evalds probably won’t be ready. As watson said, too many players available is the kind of problem coaches like

When this all started with Covid I like most thought it would be just our luck to get to the final and not be able to go, and at the time thought I’m not sure if I’d rather we didn’t get there. Now it’s happened, even with the likelihood the pubs will be shut and I’ll have to watch it at home with just my lad and dad, I can categorically say I am already peaking with excitement. I can’t concentrate on work, I go bed thinking about it and wake up the same. I know it won’t quite be the same, it’s not how we wanted it, but bloody hell we’ll make a day of it. Red Army!

It is just our luck that we will not be able to watch in the pub either.

The personal excitement effects of being in the CCF are hefty, aren't they?
Now I wasn't sure about putting this here or not but Leeds must now be heavy favourites to lift the trophy.
Sorry everyone!

You're probably right - but Saints were the heavy favourites last year, Warrington the year before, Wigan in 1998 to name just a few..... If we play anything like we're capable of, then I don't see any reason why we can't win it. Leeds are decent on their day of course, but I don't think it's going to require a complete Leeds capitulation for us to lift the trophy.
