Apparently Sky will continue to televise all Super League games in September but on a Thursday and Friday. We are on against Cas at half 2! Absolutely ridiculous. I’ll be putting my out of office on then I guess.

I think it just shows how little Sky cares about rugby league.

I think it just shows how little Sky cares about rugby league. L R I think the R F L or those who negotiate the TV deal have give them the reason to think what you say.Next time if they come with a lower offer they will accept it you know it and I know it and sky know it.

It definitely doesn’t look good for the next deal.

Showing RL during a weekday doesn't make commercial sense...

I think it just shows how little Sky cares about rugby league. I’m playing Devil’s Advocate. Premier League is back in September. We’re obviously going to have a lower profile. They didn’t have to televise all our matches. Genuine question, what is the practical downside of being switched from Arena to Mix ? As regards tv rights renewal,Elstone’s main job was to maximise revenue from that. The jury is out until we know whether Sky are the only show in town

The jury is out until we know whether Sky are the only show in town Switching from Arena to Mix is an upside - free to air basically. I agree they don’t have to televise but why bother with the cost of televising it then stick it in a slot where nobody will watch? Maybe the costs are small as they will be there for other games but maybe there are ulterior motives. The Premier League doesn’t fill the whole schedule so not sure that completely explains it. Also doesn’t that start the week after this game? Regarding the new tv contract, I’ve not heard about many/any competitors to Sky and a lowball offer from them to start won’t do us any favours either way. I hope I’m wrong and it’s all well intentioned and they plan to offer big money in the new deal (or someone else is) but I’m having a hard time seeing it.

The current Sky deal was ,if I remember correctly,an extension to the then deal and was much criticised at the time. Sky were under pressure from new entrants into the market so were looking to wrap up as much as they could. If they’re the only show in town this time I think the only pressure they’d be under would be that a low ball offer might lead to the game reverting to semi pro, which is the last thing Sky would want. We will see !

Yes no BT Sport or others offering money this time. People keep raising the new online providers but I just can’t see what the value of a minority sport only played in certain parts of the world would be for them.
Apologies for sounding a bit pessimistic - I really do hope I’m completely wrong (which I often am).

Am I right in thinking Catalan are the one team having home fixtures? Why?

Am I right in thinking Catalan are the one team having home fixtures? Why? They are the only team outside the UK and for some reason sports teams get a free pass at travel to France. Stinks to high heaven to me.

Another triumph for making an even playing field by the RL I really wonder why everybody, including Sports Broadcasting companies, seems have so little faith in them So presumably if Catalan beat Wakey in the cup we go to France to play.

Apparently the RL asked for the 2,30 slot so that it would be televised. So presumably our match was chosen not to be televised. Perhaps it'll be boring as we'll beat Cas by a cricket score. Oh and it's prime time to in Syria, as they're thinking😉 It is going to be shown again at 10,30 pm.
