On a side note, despite our Grand Final being the most televised Super League game ever and the broadcast figures looking strong and growing. It does appear we're heading for a worse TV deal from 2022 onwards, surely by now the governing body has realised they need to create competition with the broadcasters and allow the Championship the opportunity to negotiate their own TV deal? Of course they know and that’s what they’ve been trying to do. Its a bit like selling your car,you want to generate interest but if it’s not there, then it’s not there. I think that's right but if you sell your car as the most reliable, comfortable, easily maintained, low petrol consupmtion model or an old banger you're fed up with makes a huge difference. However, the real problem is not the sport but the media outlook, change of emphasis and economic situation at the time.
The figures for RL compare very favourably with other sports generally and this shows waht a great product it is because its media profile is tiny and does not rellate to the attractiveness or popularity of the game.

I wondered why the A J Bell wasn't involved.I was told they wanted to much money. Say what you will. Maybe it's Something to do with The Dates that may Coincide with Sale as there Season has started or The amount of people that would have been visiting the AJ Bell for Are & There games.

If Catalan win I assume the RL will be fair and play the QF on a neutral ground and not Catalans ground.

If Catalan win I assume the RL will be fair and play the QF on a neutral ground and not Catalans ground. The BBC Commentator Dave Woods just mentioned it costs Catalan £50'000 a match To bring the team over for the day. There not under obligation to do that So maybe the game will have to be played in France.

We would not be able to play at AJ Bell so it's surely neutral. It's costing every club to play; the fact they decided to be in France and play in SL is their choice, their cost. Nobody else in SL has home games by right. So why are they the exception.?

Said it previously I'd love to see Salford (or AN Other) force the leagues hand and say no we're not travelling.
It's just obviously not a very safe thing to do.

An article on that very issue in the tweet below. As my French is pretty much limited to saying my name, where I’m from and a few numbers I can’t really do a summary!

Why the RFL haven't insisted Catalans follow the NZ Warriors plan I don't know, it is sheer lunacy to have large numbers of players travelling to and from France in the current environment.
Pretty sure that a hotel chain like Novotel would love the press putting them up would bring and there's more than enough high quality training facilities in the NW to make it a non issue.

Pretty sure that a hotel chain like Novotel would love the press putting them up would bring and there's more than enough high quality training facilities in the NW to make it a non issue. They’d have to stay away from their families for months on end. Even if families wanted to come over, who foots the bill? Who sorts the visas, etc? The NRL has much, much more money and the Warriors deserve medals for the sacrifices they made. Cats as mentioned are spending a large amount to play away games so I’ve got no issue with them having small crowds. Also, at the time it was agreed they could play at home the government was sending out positive messages on travel, especially to places like France. Seems like we are making a mountain out of a molehill here. I’m also not sure why it’s so risky but maybe someone could enlighten me? Plane travel is safer than you’d think because of the way the air is recycled and when they get to France I’m positive they won’t be socialising with many locals. Of course staying close to home and not travelling with others is safer but if the risk isn’t much more I don’t see a problem. Maybe I’m being too blasé but it seems manageable at the moment to me. If it suddenly gets much worse then fair enough and I hope they have a fallback.

Foreign travel of any kind at the moment is stupid. It's not just the planes, in fact when they studied bacteria in airports the most virilant place is not toilets but the handrails on escalators and the air in lots of parts of airports is static. The pandemic spread very quickly in the UK and Europe in the first instance because of travel mainly by skiers after Chinese workers returned to N Itsly If Catalan wish to travel fine. But they are in SL and SL has not set any home games except for Catalan. You're in SL so why not be like all others and play at neutral grounds. I wonder when they make profits are they going to share them. So this, for them is a loss maker, but that's the rules of the game.

Mutiny on the Bounty eh MR ? No, that sadly outdated concept called common sense. I will go along with your comments 100%.But common sense should start right at the top everybody should be using common sense. They tighend the lockdown in places, but the pubs are still open. Not much common sense their. I try to do what I am told, I go in a super market their are people doing what they want.
