Masterful stuff. We looked more skillful, better drilled, more confident, and much fitter. Loving the fact that it w Who's the guy on Sky doing a very passable impression of Daffy Duck? "Sufferin' succotash!" I mentioned this last week. its Stuart Pyke, who I like so I hope he’s not ill. He was worse last week so he’s probably using stronger glue on his dentures now. It was poor, though, and accentuates the quality of NRL commentary

Masterful stuff. We looked more skillful, better drilled, more confident, and much fitter. Loving the fact that it was a Hull circle-jerk before kick-off. Apparently we needn't have bothered showing up. Complete performance. Big mentions to Tui, Yates, Johnson, and Atkins. Top of their game performances from these lads, but everyone contributed. Take-away the two mistakes and Hull would have only scored six. Highlights: www.skysports.com/rugby-league/salford-vs-hull/54232Who's the guy on Sky doing a very passable impression of Daffy Duck? "Sufferin' succotash!" Stuart Pyke. Done a lot on GMR and cricket. I really like him but it does sound like he’s got a problem with his teeth at the moment. He was worse last week. Today at one point he said ‘it’s a super start for salford on sky’s super league super Sunday’ (or something). I thought I was watching life of Brian for a minute

Well from the moment Tui through that glorious pass we absolutely smashed that. Pack was dominant, looked very fit and strong, backs were quick, kicking game was good and the flowing attacking play was possibly the best we’ve seen under Watto. I thought Catalans away last year was impressive but the invention in the play today was better even that that. Tui was fabulous. 2 tries, 7 goals, 4 or 5 assists. Just wow. Atkin looked liked the player we all hope he can be and seemed to add more to his game. Joey back to his best. Yates was everywhere. Williams and Sio were class. Josh Johnson has a wow of a game.
I was worried about us giving away too many set restarts but we seem to have decided that we are better to sacrifice a marker or two At each tackle than risk giving another 6. The number of times we had one or two on the wrong side of the ruck after a tackle. Will be interesting to see how that works against Saints, wire, wigan, leeds. But it worked today.
Watto said he was picking the game apart in his post match interview. That is great to hear cos it shows he wants to be even better. It wasn’t a perfect performance. Sarginson had his worst game for us, I thought we were sloppy in the last 10 of the 1st half which meant they were still in the game at half time When it should have over. But for us to win by that margin and have room for improvement is a huge step forward for us. Well done to Watto, all the back room staff and all the players

How long before a ‘big club’ comes in for Watto?

Give. 😁 For fear of offending the Wendyball haters on here the Berties will never be a bigger club than Utd,,!😁 Anyway.... what a quality way to end the RL hiatus for us... just hope the players can keep it up and give us a bit of hope for next season (if we ever get back into the ground!)

It was some random station he did England cricket games on. Does darts on sky too

Awesome performance from the vast majority of the squad today. Tui was sensational, Yates looked first-class and I was really impressed with Lannon and Atkin who were both solid. The only player who had a below par performance was Sarginson after that early error and for a couple of missed tackles on the Hull centre (cba trying to spell his name) It certainly sends the message out now that we mean business this season, hopefully we put in another solid performance next week. I for one cannot wait for next Saturday's game against Catalan. How bloody good is it having Super League back!? - After a 5 month break it makes you appreciate the sport so much more. Finally, after watching every game this weekend, I wanted to say how much I am loving the new rule changes with 6 again and no scrums. Scrums in RL 99% of the time are a complete waste of time and slow the game down. As for 6 again, what an introduction! I'm really pleased with the RFL/Super League's decision to bring these new rules in. And that's from someone who was sceptical about bringing them in mid-season after a long break. Definitely the right call. RL is on the up!

I agree with all of that salfordlad. I wasnt sure about the 6 again rule but it’s really grown on me in the NRL and now in SL.
Definitely not missing scrums.
Forgot Lannon when I was commenting earlier. I think he was trying to remind Josh Jones of what a good second rower looks like 😂
And we got the rub of the 50:50 calls today (except for their second try)

RUTB: JJ doesn't look the same player for Hull as he did for us last season, there's zero chance of his getting in the SL Dream Team again on that performance. From sources I've heard he would have stayed had Hastings signed a new deal. The same could probably be said for Evalds who's off to Cas - such a shame as he was great again today - I believe we'd have kept hold of him had it not been for the lockdown break, if he was around Watto & Bleasey everyday, naturally he would be been more inclined to stay. I still think it's a poor move for Niall and he should definitely stick around having been offered a 3-year deal from Salford.
And agreed on the 50/50 call, we definitely had a few decision go our way today. Big Seb should have been sin-binned for a professional foul after breaking some Hull momentum when we were 16/20 points in front. Then he gave Hull a yellow card for throwing the ball away. Both were yellow cards in my opinion. I don't believe their try just before HT should have stood but it was a tough call and you have to go with the attacking team. If it was the other way around we'd have been saying it was a try, one of those really.

The problem I’ve always had with Josh Jones is that he only really performed to his potential when he improved his fitness, lost some weight and, surprise surprise,it was in the last year of his contract. The Hull forum criticises him for always turning inside but that’s his game. Hull not using him correctly. Also,Hull was a last minute decision so I assume he was following the money, which is fine, but his heart doesn’t really seem to be there so he’s bound to be offski as there’s a clear out coming
