I know it's technically not game 1 but it almost feels like this continuation of the season is a new one. What would your 17 be with the two new signings?

Evalds Sio Welham Sarge Williams Tui Brown Mossop Ackers Dudson Roberts Lannon McCarthy
Ikahihifo Pauli (not my choice but he’ll be there) Flash Lussick
Inu would be thereabouts for me but probably won’t be if all fit.

We have two very diiferent rules and their affects on the game.
I've never truly warmed to 4 forwards on the bench.
Having no scrums should mean middles are less tired have six again means they can't possibly be.
I wondered if when they all started training without scrums if it would look more like the NFL.
Hull is a worry cos if they turn up, and I think they will this time, they can do some real damage.

If it was anything like last season at Hull, they'll be good for 25 mins then tire. They're a big set of lads. McCarthy for me with no scrums instead of Pauli

And certainly tiring Hull if they play their big lads would be a sensible part of any game plan.
By the way I'm certain we can compete no matter which Hull turns up, but we're on Tele!

I forgot about Yates - I’d definitely have him over Pauli.

I’d have Yates in there somewhere. For either Lannon, Roberts or Pauli. But other than that I’d go with that team. It’s going to be a tough run in so it will be hard on our smaller squad. The lack of scrums and the six again rule will suit the way we use our three quarters but will need mobile, fit forwards to keep up

That 6 again rule is making a massive massive difference

Half backs and full back are having a field day. Tui needs to come back fit and firing.

From what I gather about this 6 again rule you need a few bulky backs/back row who can play big minutes. I like him but PP just can't even be considered as he'll be a liability (especially as next weekend is meant to be a scorcher.
Burke, Lannon, Yates and I'd look at Josh Johnson as they are all more likely to have a forward motor than the others.
Can't afford the luxury of a spare hooker on the bench so Lussick to try and do the full 80.

Had forgotten we'd signed Ackers, he can come back on in the back row so yes I agree.

Big minute mobile and good metreage players and a quick spine.
It has looked more like sevens in the two matches so far.
Dominance can end up too one sided, but can end up going both ways more easily.

Hull pride themselves on a massive pack as do all me however you can see the 6 again rule definitely going against them. Mobile forwards definitely will be the way so what would yoir bench be?
