MR it’s inevitable and we all know this really because rugby league will probably never have the number in the Salford/Manchester area to self sustain a top team. We need to enjoy it while it lasts unless we get a big money man or rugby league suddenly becomes the next big thing. I’m enjoying us punching above our weight at the moment though.

The GF I think got people’s expectations way too high People talking of a top 5 finish this year😳 We will always struggle, even with a benefactor we struggled. No club can compete and survive on average gates of 4.5 k I’m still pi$$ed of with him but maybe he looked and thought where will Salford be in the next 3 yrs or even next season. Castleford get the crowds and will not be struggling down at the bottom of SL, can the same be said for Salford. He has made his choice and taking of my red tinted glasses I can possibly see why.

We don't have to understand him or his reasons we just need to move on and the quicker the better. Wakey swap for ..... Hull swap for ..... They're both nearer Cas for him aren't they. Joel Moon geography lesson everyone!

It should not surprise anyone that other clubs would come in for him. Such is our position that our best players are likely to be offered more money than we can afford. He has been a good player for us. Please don't turn against him.

We are a feeder club always will be, don't have the funds to hold on to our assets and build a winning team over seasons

He has been a good player for us. Please don't turn against him. I suspect we would’ve matched what Cas are paying him. I think the point is that Harris took our best offer and allowed Cas to better it,without coming back to us before the announcement was made.It would be interesting to know whether Harris’s fee was relevant,ie higher if he changed clubs. All’s fair in love and war but ,if that’s what happened,Harris won’t be pulling the same trick again as other clubs will now be wise to the tactic.

As in Iestyn Harris?
That explains a great deal to me, him being a player agent is a bad thing for us as he's always going to be inclined to get players to other teams than Salford.

I'm pretty resigned to losing JL at the end of the season too, you also have to factor in that Dudson is of and already we have yet another end of season rebuilding job to do.
#1 #7 (I expect Brown to hang up his boots)
#8 #9
That's another big swathe of talent to find.

We’ve done well with cheap forwards, including hookers, and I’m sure we can craft a fullback from somewhere but I’m most worried about scrum half as we are already short of creativity. There are generally expensive and sought after as well. Anyway it’s a bit soon for that.

I'd look at Ben Flower and Dan Fleming to add to the prop stocks.

Not actually sure how a testimonial match works, does the player in question get all the profits, or does he share it with a nominated charity?
The more I read/think about this Harris could well be a driving factor in his decision. Let's hope for a Daly Cherry Evans style back flip.

I’ve just read the Mirror / Evalds article, with many mixed feelings. He thanks everyone but the main administrator, so I assume there is some bad blood there. I am desperately sad Evalds is leaving and fully appreciate his time with the club. However I have little sympathy with his complaints. I’ve read most comments and in fairness found a tiny minority making over the top comments. You would have to be pretty naive if you didn’t expect some criticism when leaving any professional sports team. In general fans have respected his decision and I believe by going to the press and complaining a number of fans will change their opinions. I would say we’ll played to him and put your head down and leave with good grace and avoid reading social media.

This season is shot whichever way you look at it, bit of business straight swap could do everyone involved the world of good. I agree I don't like his moans, or social media nasty from fans so let's look beyond this and see what can be arranged.
I almost gave up this time building a side again is getting monotonous!
