oK,let’s speculate. Unless he has Australia in mind, which I doubt,he has a far bigger club on a promise for the year after next. Someone with a full back going home ?? My first thought was Cas are up to the cap next year but have promised him a bumper deal the year after. If he just wanted to bide his time for somewhere else why not stay here for another year? You've got it spot on there mate. 2 more signings have been made so it had to be a one year deal with a big 3 year deal to follow. god knows where we are getting the money from though.

What i dont understand , is how clubs can go throwing contracts around, when we dont know what the salary cap for next season is. If sky want there money back for this season if no more matches get played a few clubs are going to struggle this season let alone next, I think it would be foolish to be going offering contracts to be honest. Just my thought on things.

Given what seems to have been a bit of nonsense on his part have Cas got someone to swap for him now?

Seems like Evalds has been a it of a dick here, can see fans turning on him. It mentions his ‘representatives’ twice so I’d say the finger is firmly pointed in that direction.

Always assumed Niall was a quiet lad just happy to be playing RL. To me this looks likes he’s been pressured/advised by his agent.

Classy response by the club that.👏 Have to say I've been so impressed by the way Paul King, Watto & Bleasey have run the club the last few years and we'd be completely fucked without them tbh.
Niall going is a massive blow and no doubt the full story will come out in due course. Niall has come on in leaps and bounds over the past few seasons under Watto and I hope for his sake, this doesn't turn out to be a massive mistake.
I'm not gonna start ranting and raving as I'm pissed off enough and as long-suffering Salford fans I think we deserve better but it's what we've had to accept over the years. I imagine we'll never get to see Evalds in a Salford shirt again as even if the season restarts I can't see any games being played in front of crowds due to social-distancing. Maybe it's best if Cas stump up some cash now and we move Niall on in the best interests of all parties.

It's fair to say that Niall hasn't come out of this smelling like roses... he's either guilty of stringing the club along for months whilst secretly negotiating with another club or has had his head turned at the last minute by his agent touting him to a "better" club. And to say he is leaving to "win trophies" is a bit of a joke as the only significant thing Cas have won in the last 10 years is a League Leaders Shield three years ago. Admittedly, that is one more than us but recently they have struggled to be even the bridesmaid, let alone the bride.

And now Evalds has his say. I’m less convinced by this to be honest- the club gave all the details and this is just the usual ‘the truth will come out’ line you always hear. If he’d just said he wanted a change then fair enough. There is another tweet below this one if you follow the link.

Agents advise, players decide. That’s clearly what he’s saying. What appears to have happened is that his agent has waited for the best Salford deal and then used that to negotiate a better deal elsewhere. It’s what agents do but it doesn’t sit right really.. The Club couldn’t have done any more apart from, possibly, sealing the deal at the final negotiation. That would be a harsh criticism. We’ve lost better players before, even very recently. Best wishes to him

What rankles me about this (and others leaving) is that we have had a brilliant team systematically dismantled after reaching the Grand Final, can't think of anything similar happening to any team in any sport.
No team in SL can afford to lose Bibby, Griffin, Hastings, JJ, Olpherts, Tomkins and now Evalds, it's just impossible to replace that level of departed talent. The sad thing is I fully expect Lussick to follow him out of the door as his body language has been different this year and we are obviously playing him differently from last season.
Unless there so miracle investment for next season we will be battling at the bottom of the table sadly.
