Yeah we all have our 'sources' but this one is pretty good. Watson has targeted the fordward pack primarily as our focus point and our one weak area. We may finally see that promised land...

I think Adam Walker would be a good signing. So too Jimmy Keinhorst at Leeds - the Batley lad who went to Cas on loan maybe - possibly Welham at the Bulls & For me Tomkins deserves the shirt.

Not sure how reliable as it's on Wiki but it states "James Green has signed to play for newly promoted Leigh Centerions on a 2 year contract, which will keep him at Leigh for the 2017 and 2018 seasons".
I'd have thought we'd have been targeting a centre unless JJ's going to be playing permanently in the 3/4's.
I would've gone for Welham last year when he left KR, always played really well well against us.

Josh Martellato for me would cover the kicking duties and I'd maybe look at Carney playing centre.
GOB, Jones, Carney, Johnson, Mantellato, Sau, Evalds, Vidot (if he stays) and a youngster or two from the academy doesn't look half bad to me.

I believe talking to HKR fans Mantelato and Lunt will be staying at HKR for next year so I think that rules them out. Watson rates Tomkins and sees his potential being only 23. Bar brining don't think we'll see a new hooker. Happy to be proven wrong though just not a lot out there.

Has Kenny gone back to Warrington or did we sign him permanently?
I'd be surprised if Mantellato did stay as he is going to be a very valuable player for many SL teams for his point scoring ability and size.

I agree with people's sentiments hooker wise it's always been a position where I've personally thought you should "break the bank"" to bring in a real quality 9.
It's shown many occasion when we've played teams with a better quality 9, they've torn us a new one and we've just not been able to handle them.
The game against Leigh being of note even Higham at his stage of career ran us ragged from dummy half.
I think deep down it's just really what all Salford fans have longed to see as we've never (in my lifetime) had a hooker of that ability.
For what it's worth what we have are steady and with the addition of Brinning, who I believe certainly has the potential I think we will be ok.
People also forget Wood is still in the back ground as he's been out of the fray for so long.

He played at interchange hooker and Sheens rated him very highly, good to have someone on the bench who can cover the halves and hooking position.
I'm quite excited at the prospect of seeing Brining play SL, looks very much in the Daryl Clarke mode, might need toughening up on the defensive side but his attack already looks deadly.

I though wood was more SH or SO?
Wilkinson is hooker I think but never got an outing other than Rochdale pre season. He looked good that day and very good in U19 the season before.
