So if the hospitals up and Down the UK Are full of Seriously ill people with a contagious Virus then it doesn't matter that 20-35 thousands of people will be in close proximity to each other and the spread of the virus will accelerate, Then after The Magic Weekend people will go back to various parts of the UK And spread the virus. Doesn't seem the best idea. Like I said I’m no expert but I’d have thought if they’d failed to stop the spread across the country and infection rates were high (worst case scenario is 80%) then would they shut down everything or let folks decide for themselves to carry on and the most vulnerable to stay at home? Makes more sense to cancel things now to stop the spread. People need to isolate, in most cases not for themselves, but for those who will suffer if they do catch it. The current government and a lot of people's glib attitude is going to cost vulnerable people their lives. And that's before you take into account those people who need sudden emergency care that wont be able to get it because the health system and workers are stretched to capacity. Coronavirus will also be responsible for the deaths of a fair number of people that would normally survive life threatening trauma simply because the care wont be there for them. People need to listen. But I fear that the government is simply playing a dangerous game and hoping that its decisions fall on the right side of luck in the coming weeks.

Very well put Carnster. You've been through it and seen what it is all about, nearly didn't last the trip and as you identified the reality is not good. Especially for the vulnerable.
We have to take care of ourselves in order that there is space for the old, infirmed and vulnerable to be looked after in the NHS.

Carnster, wasn’t intending to be glib (and did say that) so apologies if it came across that way. Was honestly just asking questions as I don’t know the answers and this is obviously a complicated issue.

It was just an observation, and I didn't think you were being glib either, just that a lot of people are.
