My question for this match was about the end and the lack of backing up. Pauli made a great offload, as did Welham, Sio a great break but where was the support?
As stand off part of Loloheas job is to get himself in the right positions to support breaks. The only person who ever seems to do this is Evalds. Constantly we play 4 sets of one up forwards and nobody ever supports looking for the half break.
I really think we're becoming a bit too structured and process driven at times which makes players get ready for the next play as opposed to finishing the existing play. So for example a forward goes on a run and as he's met by an opponent the team seems to be just getting ready for the next set as opposed to completing that one as possibly taking any half chance offered.

i think losing Walker has set us back. But if you look at yesterday losing Dudson, Ikafeno ( then Greenwood also) as well I think we did really well to hold a massive Huddersfield pack. I'd prefer Flanagan to Pauli but if you are to playing Pauli I'd consider him as a prop to replace Walker. On for 20-30 minutes but utilising him as a battering ram.i don't think Greenwood quite up to it and I still don't understand why Yates not on for 80. So pack Dudson Jones Mossop McCarthy Lannon Yates Interchanges: Ikafeno, Lussick, Flanagan, Pauli If you want Burke in then he's the first 20 min tackling hooker, he's played there before. Perhaps better than Jones because he could be used later in the match. Yes certainly Flanagan in for his creativity down the middle. But it's early days and the team is still forming. Agree with the selection with Burke in for Jones & then I would have Inu in for Welham

Can’t see what Jones did wrong myself bar one poor scramble and his passing was much sharper than last week - needs at least another chance.

Jones will be starting hooker with Lussick coming on. Watson rates Jones starting so get it out of our heads that he'll utilise someone else.

Not that Jones is not good but it's a 20 min run and then not used so it's wasting a spot, lack of flexibility. Burke could do the job and then be available for use later on in the game. Burke can play 3 or 4 positions. Jones just a 20 min pony. So it's not that Jones is not good but that Burke offers more as an interchange forward in the game.
I'm glad you've got Watsons ear TWM so we'll leave it there. But you could let us know the teamsheet a little earlier please?

I’d rather play flash at 9 than Burke.

I can see people’s thinking but can’t remember many clamouring for Tomkins to be dropped last year when he did the same job. I’d rather see changes elsewhere first personally and can’t see Watson overhauling the whole team - we’ll be lucky if he changes anything next week (bans and injuries aside).

There's a couple of glaring problems that haven't been addressed since last season.
We're really sloppy in defense behind the ruck. Right side defensive line still has a gaping weakness between Welham and the player to his left. These areas were exposed a few times last night again. Considering we have a big pack we didn't dominate and looked slow going forward. Certainly missed Dudson massively. Brown hasn't done a great deal for me so far this season, but he deserves a few more games before I become a little more critical.
Leeds have their tail up after a big win and we look very static. I'm not particularly optimistic about our chances next week.

I thought we did well last night against a big pack, their bench was good.
I think we're improving each week but Evalds covering of breaks along the line and Lolohea not backing up bother me. Thought this weeks defence was better than last week. Think Brown settling in; its harder for him than anybody as he's the playmaker and not only has to know but then organise. I'm undecided about Lolohea and our tactics of 4/5 charges and a high kick. Warrington were like this last year but now they're expansive and a far better team.
But Week 3, we're improving and possibly asking too much after last year. But it's funny when we play an expansive game we're much better. Game nearing the end, Pauli rather than accepting the tackle fights for freedom and nearly sets up a try, and only it seems because we're running out of time. Odd.

Pack badly missed Dudson,Seb and Walker. Greenwood hasn’t particularly impressed but his bulk was missed. We ended with too many similarly undersized forwards. Hopefully that will be rectified to some extent next week. Tyke has avoided both praise and criticism. I’d love to know his stats because,if we’re lacking creativity, then where’s Flash in Wattos plans?

Yeah I'm pretty sure they lost 42-6.
Don't even think the reserves fixtures are on the website though which is strange.

Just watched the SL show and saw the highlights. Pauli for the 2nd try not pushing up, sucked in the defence and led the try. Hopefully with Roberts signed he will be moved to the props as he isn't mobile enough and doesn't work hard enough
