Good determined win by keeping the pressure on, but glad I don't have to watch Huddersfield each week, absolutely dire. And their tactics lying on, constantly slowing the game down, feigning injury, apparently all the beds in Hope are full now. Ref sadly a bit naive but as they said in Oz RL, want to cut down penalties and faking at the ptb but there's a limit to what teams should continually get away with; not one penalty given for a third man going into the tackle. Think refs need to call 'held' earlier to keep the nonsense down to a minimum. Still Salford were disciplined, put up with all the rubbish thrown at them, and had a good win. Wish Inu could be consistent with his superb display today then he'd really be worth hanging on to. Sadly today, apart from the 2 pts, was a poor advert for RL. No team can be world beaters every week. Even the very best play some scruffy stuff. The difference this season to many others for us, is that we are actually winning the scruffy games. Something we never were able to do. I'll take it as a positive that we can play poorly and stick 32 points on a team every day of the week.

We weren't poor particularly but it was an awfully stop start game. Didn't show much in attack for 70 minutes they defended well but the stoppages jesus. That little turd who wore the shirt and wore the scarf 10 games before he left was never off the pitch. Probably hastings worst game since he arrived but still pulled the strings towards the end. Scoreline flattered us in the end but I'll take that til the end of the season. Beer was the worst it's ever been btw lines not been cleaned since last home game...

Just hated watching a match where the other side came to spoil, stop the other team playing, slow the game down, have 4 head injuries!! Continually roll around the ground. Glad we won but awful match. As you said good to win and win well in a scrappy game And again sadly ref did his best but not really up to controlling that type of game

I've mentioned it already on the RLFans site and the Hudds board , but that Oliver Wilson incident was a disgrace. He was treated for a good 3/4 minutes for a head knock on their line, was allowed to play on and subsequently collapses at the next play the ball. At which point it (apparently) appeared he was seriously injured and he required 2 members of the Hudds staff to support his jelly legs and escort him off the field. For him then to reappear 5 minutes later appearing fresh as a daisy was bizarre to say the least.🙄
So the incident was either 1 of 2 things....
A) Gross negligence by Hudds medical staff allowing him to play on when he appeared clearly unfit to do so.
B) Blatant cheating by the player/coaching staff by encouraging Wilson to feign injury to slow the game down (hence his miraculous recovery).
Throw in the other numerous "head knocks", Gaskell's Tom Daly impression when Niall had the ball and various other niggly tactics employed by Hudds and they got exactly what they deserved.
Oh and the ref was completely out of his depth....

They were going ballistic over the Wilson incident. It sounded like he had spaghetti legs when he went off and then made a miraculous recovery to waltz back on. I have to say, this sounds like blatant cheating. There is no way any doctor or medical staff of a SL club would allow this to happen if it was legit. Just goes to show some of the lengths teams will go to when they're fighting for their lives down the bottom...

It was English who came off with the head injury and Wilson who came on a few minutes later for another player. English should have come off after the clash of heads as was shown by the state he was in after the next tackle. Looks like the Hudds medical team didn’t do a very good job with that one. Of the 4 players that went off for concussion assessments only one came back on. For the last 7 or 8 minutes Leeming could hardly walk after a leg injury but he stayed on as they had no bench to replace him No idea if they were all genuine or not but they had no subs to use for most of the last 15 minutes and they ran out of juice so I’m not sure what advantage they were getting by doing it

Huddersfield came to spoil and upset our game plan, it nearly worked but we have obviously learned something from our last encounter with them. The Shot clock is a proper load of rubbish, every time it was going to be used a player went down injured thereby the Ref calling it off. Every time it looked like they were going to have to drop out their medical staff were already waiting to go onto the pitch, it was a complete joke.

Man of the Match: we agreed (where I was sat) because of his non-error rate and commitment to the action, was ... Luke Robinson.

Apparently it's going to stop raining by 10-11am and it isn't expected to rain after that, so hopefully the pitch will have dried up by 3pm. 17c and cloudy conditions are perfect for a game of Rugby League. NO The conditions for the NRL game that just finished were perfect, a stadium with palm trees growing at 1 end. Can't think I've ever seen a more idilic setting for a game. Fair point, that must be one of the most beautiful Rugby League stadiums in the world. St George's is right next to the beach/sea too. Wigan and Hull played a Super League game there a few years ago. Wasn't a bad match that either, first 10 minutes it looked like the Storm were going to win comfortably.

Furthermore, the injured player went down for 90 seconds on the Salford try line, delaying our attack and ruining our momentum, and then instead of walking 10 metres off the pitch behind the sticks. He decides to walk the longest way possible off the pitch and gives them another 40-60 seconds for a breather. This is awful gamesmanship and The RFL/Super League need to look at this immediately. However, I do feel a more experienced referee would have dealt with Sunday's game much differently. I appreciate the official was trying to let the game flow by not giving away countless penalties, however Huddersfield were constantly holding players down in the tackle which created a slow/dull game. Well, until the last 15 minutes when they ran out of gas and we steamrolled them! See ya! Finally, I really do hope that Huddersfield (better away day) or Wakefield (**** away day but bring more fans to the AJ) go down this season. Neither of these sides bring anything to Super League and there are already enough teams in West Yorkshire in Super League. I feel it would benefit SL overall to have presence in the capital to allow us to attract more mainstream sponsors. Having Toronto in SL should help us negotiate a better TV deal too.

That's something I'd not considered, next year when the Toronto are in the league Sky are going to jizz all over them, they'll be on more than every team except Saints, Wigan and Leeds, certainly more than we will.

Dudson has got off with a warning for his hit below the knees: www.rugby-league.com/article/55510/disciplinary--match-review-panelAt the time I thought he might be in trouble afterwards. We have done very well with the disciplinary so far this year. But nobody mentions that because it doesn’t fit the ‘everyone is against Salford’ conspiracy theories.
