... Watson becomes Queensland coach in his spare time ... I think you mean New South Wales (the Welsh connection there )

Interesting. So that’s one of next year’s half backs sorted and at the same price as this year. Looks like good business to me.

Doesn’t help in freeing up funds to sign our other halfback but I’d be pretty pleased to see Lolohea at 6 next year regardless of who we have at 7. I still think it’s a decent deal - he’s 24 with lots of potential.

The sad part of this is we don't get to give RL the send off he deserves, has never been anything but a model professional for the club and I'd like to have seen 1 last time in a Salford shirt doing a 'Junior' around the boards so all the fans who've appreciated him can say goodbye.
Along with Junior I think my favourite big name signing of the Doc K era.

It doesn't seem too bad a deal on the face of it, as long as we can get Lolohea up to his full potential, although I am sad to see Lui go. He's been one of the best stand offs I've seen at Salford for a long while, and he seems an all-round nice guy.
I'm guessing the 65k covers the wage difference for next season too? If 65k is the difference for only the remaining 10 games of the season, then that he must've been on some serious bunce at Leeds.

from what i understand, the 65k is an upfront fee, Leeds are also paying Lolehea's wages for the remaining of this year! good business by the club.

Yeah as far as I know, Leeds are paying his wages for this year so we do make some savings there. We then take over the last two years of his contract but to cover the extra cost in comparison to Lui we are being paid £65k up front. That means he’s on about £190k a year!
