It's a positive for Salford R.L.F.C. and a negative for the taxpayers of Salford. It's not news that we're not in the best financial health. The Council don't really have a choice but to extend these agreements because if they try and call them in Salford will go bust and they'll be lucky to get pennies on the pound back. I agree totally with your post, if I was not a supporter I would be spitting feather with all the cuts going on around them, unfortunately they are dammed if they do & dammed if they don't.

Getting back to the theme good or bad, for me it is a good start Salford council want more transparency with the accounts, especially if they are defer payments again for another 3 years. Salford Council will always have Salford at heart, so I trust they are in it for the right reasons. Obviously they want a return on there investment & also want the city of Salford to have a professional sports team. I hope the councils decision will allow a period of stability, at least the council will be transparent unlike MK who I personally do not trust.

Great servant Stuart Littler underrated, I believe he still holds the record for the most consecutive games played.

I think it appalling what Peel are doing, they take enough out of the North West, millions in profit each year own half of the North west, tax exile living in the isle of Man paying very little or no tax & expecting us the tax paying public to foot the bill. I hope Salford & Trafford go after the highway robbers in the form of Peel, they have my support.

You can't betray confidences but there are people who could help. Well the ST has started so it'll be good to see what it's aims are and how ambitious it is. More than ever I believe the fans need to have a strong voice, the tone of your message still appears to suggest it will be too much of a click to do any good, there will always be those who look for different motives, lets give the forum a chance, at the very least fans continue to be informed & can discuss issues & topics. Right now I have more confidence in the supporters forum than in the steward of the club!

Lets give the club the benefit of our doubt, the clubs transfer of ownership is at a very delicate transition & both parties are unable to give any statements, it happens? Other than this there could be no other possible reason you would not want to promote the early bird tickets sales, by selling the club & the future of the club. I for one will not renew until I have clarity of the ownership & depending on what comes out I will still go but will pick & choose & not renew my season ticket if MK is sat pulling the strings, I love my club but I am fed up of the circus around the owner, before you tell me we would have no club, we would always have a club but not at the level we are at now, maybe we need to get real & accept we should be at championship level & start to build the right infrastructure with a board who sole interest are the good of the foundation & the club & not his own ego.

Forced to be scrapped by the RFL and MK being responsible are two different things. Which is it? I'm not taking sides here btw, just trying to figure out your syntax. MK pulled the plug or the RFL? Does it make any difference! the club in my opinion has been run very poorly, all the important decisions have been taken by MK alone! the guy could not bat straight if he tried. For me as it stands, the only hope we have in the club is having a strong foundation, without such foundations the club as no future unless we have a very rich benefactor waiting in the wings. sad if true.

I'm tempted to ask Derek Beaumont to do a Q&A for us. Like you say Carnster , he's the only person providing a bit of clarity on our situation. Well said he has been drip feeding for a while now, little snippets, acting as MK lap dog to ensure we get the facts bit by bit. MK had is plans to exit Salford after the million pound game, he needed excuses to exit the club, he as created plenty, knowing Manchester would be a non starter. I would have found some respect for him if he was honest about the situation, however from day one he as never batted with a straight bat. I have been a season ticket holder for more years than I care to remember, I have always been one of the first to renew my season ticket in October each year, I will continue to support the club but I will not contemplate renewing my season ticket until I have clarity on the ownership of the club. I have no problem in watching my club at a level we can afford which maybe as championship level, my only hope is it will not include MK as unpalatable this may be to others, this man as broken life long loyal supporters, I believe not until the man is gone will we see the real damage done to our club,I include the under 19s & the short sighted decision which means we have no chance of creating any youngster or asset for the future of the club. I have signed up to support the independent supporters trust, I hope the vision of the trust will be to support funding of the academy in any way possible as looks to me the only way our future can progress.

It sounds like a re-launch or re-branding of forever reds then? I don't doubt people's drive and commitment, but can't help feel a little disappointed that it's basically just a fan driven trust to help support what the club should be doing in the first place. I suppose there's no harm in fans trying to do something. I just wish the club would buy into these kinds of things, after all, we're all supposed to be singing from the same hymn sheet. To me, the down side is that the club will see it as a cheap way for things such as the foundation to be kept going where they can reap the rewards for very little input, especially financially. Maybe I'm overly cynical but what worries me more, at this point, is not knowing which direction the club is going. The pitiful excuse of a communication department means nobody really knows anything. this stuff should have been sorted in time to capitalise on the good work done this year and provide a springboard for season tickets. As it stands, the club is floundering around at a time where it should be heading forward with recruitment and positively pushing season tickets. As it stands, hopefully we'll have a side come the start of the season to have a supporters trust for, because I'm not really seeing any progress at all. I'll wait until I find out whether the club is going to be worth my time and money before committing to anything... Yes I find your comments are a little cynical, I know all the supporters attending & joining do not know the direction of the club & are extremely worried about where the club is going, however putting a strong supporters forum together will help mobilize fans to be proactive. The fans forum is bound to be compared to the disbanded forever reds, I am sure there will be committee members elected from the previous board, although this all depends on the new members & the direction they want to take the trust. For me a supporters body has been long overdue, & like was said in a previous message Dave Campbell deserves all the credit he getting for getting off his back side & doing something positive which gives the fans a voice, only if to express the concerns among other like minded supporters. I understand there are no guarantees, I believe forever reds was disbanded partly due to MK indicating he did not need the support either by funding or in the way he communicated with fans, clearly for me this was a mistake to disband a real fans voice. I am not on the committee or wish to be on the committee, however I do think fans should get behind the fans forum, the more joined up the fans are the more the club I believe will listen to the fans.

It was a good meeting last night.270 members signed up as of now.An interim board was set up to get business going that needs to be done until January when elections will take place for the board going forward.Mark Brocklehurst gave a talk about the work the foundation does in regards a pathway for youngsters to progress. The under 16 are playing the Midlands on Wednesday night if anyone is interested. Maybe that's one of the ways we can help going forward. What I also took from the meeting is that the new trustees are not coming in as the 6 stoges.Probably someone can had more. What is the actual reason for the trust? Is it to act with the club and be part of the new era? Is it to do something in the communities independent of the club? Is there any coming together of the trust and the club? Can anyone actually tell us what all this is for? For me personally the supporters trust as a number of benefits? 1) Brings fans together crating a forum & a body able to communicate with the club & above all keeps supporters involved. 2) Support the foundation as previous, this was the main focus of Mark Brocklehurst visit, for those who attended there was a real insight into the work going on & the lack of funding available. he explained how withdrawing the under 19s funding had affected the whole club structure. He told us that when lads were reaching 16 they had nowhere to go & were then drifting or being taken to other clubs undoing all the good work being undertaken. I was very impressed by the work going on in the foundation by a very small group of individuals, if I can help in any small way I will, hopefully the group can focus a lot of effort in the area, I know the foundation would love this to happen. I believe we lost a very important forum when the fans forum was disbanded, I know it was not perfect & it will not suit everyone, however I have attended both meetings & I have left wanting to do more, it is also heart warming to listen to the dedication of those working in the foundation, I just hope we can support this area of the club though the supporters forum. In answer to a questions raised I believe the forum as nothing to do with the new structure, & was brought together out of frustration & the lack of communication to fans by the club. I believe the main focus of raising funds will be to help the foundation, although that is my opinion not the one of the forum which as to be elected, however I do believe it will try & support the foundation more which cannot be a bad thing. Finally it does appear there is some progress on the new club structure & the businessmen behind the new structure, we were told it was all happening very quickly & announcements would be made very soon, although make what you will with that broad statement.

I am disappointed by any lack of clarity inside or outside the club which I find concerning.

I think the whole timing came together coincidentally, some supporters had discussed activating a supporters group again & the first meeting coincided with the clubs announcement of a season ticket holder being elected to the Salford board. I understand the supporters group will have no powers within the club, however I understand Ian Blease is fully aware of the intentions of the supporters group. I like many supporters will be attending tonight's meeting where I am sure a number of outstanding question will be answered.
I not on any committee or want to be, however I have joined & paid my £10 as I do firmly believe the supporters need to engage in having its own independent forum, which helps keep supporters involved & hopefully the new trust board will recognize the importance of the supporters fans group whoever they maybe.

As this been confirmed that he is also no longer a Salford player, if so it seems very convenient to get rid, I don't buy it, it seems to me, use the back door to justify the club unloading players.

Just heard, what is a rumour, that we owe £500,000 tax bill, that's why we are selling players If this is the case it is down to the man at the helm!
