Classy by saints last night, bit of a reality check for us, squad thread bear, no half backs, no pace in the backs not really surprising. We need to continue to condition ourselves to the teams around us, lets remember saints beat Huddersfield 64-4 a few weeks ago. we are not the first & certainly will not be the last. If Watson manages to sneak us into the top 8 come the business end of the season, he will deserve the freedom of Salford with the squad we have.
Finally although gutted & it was painful to watch, how good was Ben Barba!

Priority for me is super league survival, look what happened last season in the latter part of the season, small squad lots of injuries. This season the squad is even more thread bear. I want to win of course but it would not be the end of the world if we progressed no further.

Considering the walking wounded at the end of the game against Wakefield, this looks a fairly decent squad, I would be very surprised to see Wood make the 17

At yesterdays game the announcer was advertising betfred! I cannot believe this guy who says he loves rugby league cannot put his hand in his pocket & give us some of his pocket change to help us financially. Mr Salford as you like to claim in your adverts your city needs you.
A question for the board, have you ever approached Bet Fred & what are his reason for not supporting his local club, I believe a family member is funding Salford City through Peninsula?

Really good to get the win, wasn’t a great game to be honest. The weather didn’t help but that was two pretty average attacking teams, luckily Hudds are far worse than us. All the forwards brilliant yet again. Flanagan, Mossop, Hauraki, Nakuawai all excellent. I’m sorry but Littlejohn just isn’t the man for the job, brings absolutely nothing to the table. Very much my thoughts

Thank you for your feed back, honest but brutal. A clear message emerged from the question & answer session, the clubs need us active fans to be more proactive. The board have both hands tied behind there back unable to generate any match day revenue. If the unthinkable happened at the end of the season, dropping down to the championship would make the business model less attractive & that much more difficult to come back.

Andy we don't seem to hear or see much of the other board members? Are they still active? What's IB's role? How does the Foundation link to the Club? Transfer activity, is there any going to happen? Where does the Supporters Trust sit with the Club? Are we going to resurrect the Academy/ ATeam? Very good set of questions all very relevant

Think Asif is/was a Foundation board member. Have spoken to Andy Rosler and he is really working his socks off for the Club. The others ??When Admin gets back from his jolly AR says he is prepared to answer questions on a monthly basis. When I spoke to him, he wants to really make the Club a Community Club and will answer as candidly as possible. Thanks JJR

I was looking into our appointed board members, Andrew Rosler, Hannah Fendrall & Dawn Fidler & can see a clear association with the club, but when I look at Asif Latief I don't know anything about him having any previous association with the club.
Can anyone enlighten me what his role is & how he came to be a board member?
No motive just trying to work out where & how he was considered for such an important role within the club?

I sit in the west stand with my season ticket, occasionally I will introduce lapsed fans or the occasional fan to watch the game, unfortunately the cost for the casual fan is £25 to sit in the West stand & I am continually told I am not paying that again as it is far to expensive. Why can we not have a scheme where when accompanied by a season ticket holder it allows a discount when purchased with the season ticket holder card of up to one to encourage the occasional fan to visit. Or why not give the season ticket holders the chance to introduce a number of friends, lapsed supporters once per season at a discounted rate. I know Wigan ran a scheme where season ticket holders had the chance to bring up to 6 supporters once per season at a special discounted rate.

1)What measures are the board putting in place to try & reverse the decline in supporters actually watching Salford! 2) Without increases in supporters revenue, how does the present board seek to increase marketing revenue to allow investment in future players!
thanks

Can’t fault the effort from them, on another night we win that game. The sin bin was a joke, sapped a lot of energy out of us. The ball steal was a really harsh call as well I thought, would like to see it back. I totally agree regarding Olpherts, feel sorry for him tbh because he had a good game, would’ve had a debut try without VR but made a mistake that turned the game at a crucial point. I was screaming “DONT BLOCK HIM DONT BLOCK HIM!”, god knows what he was thinking but it’s just inexperience and he’ll learn from it. For what it’s worth I thought the decisions to take the 2 were the right decisions at the time. Neither team wanted to lose that tonight and knew points would be at a premium. Let’s give Widnes some credit, they are a much better side than last year. Our forwards are being severely let down by the backs, in the last 20 mins we saw widnes use their kicking game well and pin us deep in our half. The kicking from Lui and Littlejohn was woeful second half, don’t think they found touch once. We allowed them back into the game because of this. On Littlejohn - very poor, lacking confidence and pretty much non existent. My god how we’re missing Dobbo. If he was playing tonight we’d have wrapped that game up. I just don’t think Littlejohn has it in his locker to take us forward and Lui doesn’t have the kicking game to manage a lead. Anyway, onto next week. If we put that sort of effort in we should get past Catalans. A good & balanced assessment

No gunner I'm glad he's made a comment as a fan. At least it shows he cares and might allay the doom mangers a little. JJR I understand why you think like that & respect your opinion, for me I can only relate to a coach who leaves a club & starts to make comments about his previous position, this maybe can be seen as undermining the present structure. I not suggesting this is the case, however it could happen with one wrong word.

Any professional person would have re-framed from making a comment, he fueling the fire as you always get a small section who will think MK is on his way back, not helpful in my opinion.

I don't think it's healthy to be questioning the future of Ian Watson just now. Last year started well, but we stalled badly in the second half of the season. Around that time, I'm sure Dr Koukash started to firm up plans to walk away from the club, Dobbo will have started making plans to retire, and a degree of uncertainty crept in. Think about it from a player's point of view. You might not play for the most glamorous side in the SL, but you knew you would get paid. Now even that is in question. BMM leaves to steady the ship financially and you have your fears confirmed (be they real or not). The reality, I believe, is that we are unsettled behind the scenes. New ownership, new board, less money, players leaving (although I don't include GOB in that statement just yet). Ian Watson might not be the most talented coach in SL, but he did a lot of good work with the squad last year, and is owed, if nothing else, the chance to work with a settled team who can see where the club is going. At the end of the day, the players are human, and until the future of the club is clear, they will worry about getting paid, worry about their careers, and worry about whether they are doing enough to be under contract next season. Right now, as gutted as we are about current results, and about GOB leaving (and BMM), we need to get behind the lads. Questioning whether the coach, or any player should be there right now is not helpful. Yorkie1973 good post! MR Don't agree with any of your comments IW for me if doing an ok job under extreme conditions. firstly sack the coach who are you likely to bring in with no money? A top coach no chance, the club as no money it will continue to rob peter to pay Paul, it is likely to be a very rough ride & unless there is some sugar daddy waiting in the wings we are heading to the championship no matter what coach we put in.
