Yeah, there seems to be an ample footpath at the side of it. Judging by the traffic at the TC can't see it being long before people use it the opposite way and park at the stadium and walk across the bridge. Excellent stuff, be great that for going Wetherspoons pre-match! Sorry to p!ss on your chips lad but the swing bridge is meant to be closing for approx 12 weeks shortly, if they leave it open for pedestrian access might be worth getting dropped at the Kings Head and walking down Lovers Lane past the gym other than that everyone will either have to go over the Centenary Bridge or via Brookhouse. Basically any potential benefit that the new bridge might bring will be negated by all the extra Traffic.

Don't need to go near the Swing bridge

Not the pub/restaurant the Swinging Bridge the actual Barton Swing Bridge.
If indeed it does close then you'll have a hell of a schlep to get to the Castle In The Air.

Think we are talking at crossed purposes, it's how you get to the Chill Factore if the Swing Bridge is closed, you'd have to go via the Centenary Bridge or all the way to Brookhouse and double back on yourself.
Might not happen but there have been surveyors on it today so I'd guess it more than likely will.

Why would you go further up and then double back on yourself when there's a shorter route which brings you directly there?

If you want to drink there after the game then yeah but if it's pre game and you live in Salford (other than Irlam) then it's a trip out of your way.

Yes, you would have to go through Trafford Park/Dumplington wouldn't you. In that case wonder which way the 100 bus is going to go with the bridge shut? A lot of access cut off that for a lot of workers/shoppers

Hop on hop off £1each way would be a belting idea.

Hoping to be off for the Wigan game so will give it a trial run (if the swing bridge is shut) Shame it isn't a Saturday like last year, enjoyed the Wigan and Wire games on the Saturday afternoon.
