Took the opportunity to use it both ways tonight at 7.00pm and was very impressed. It appears to have eased the traffic from Irlam towards Peel Green at 4.45pm although from Peel Green towards Irlam it was busy. There will be no walking on the road after the games and most probably no parking on Stadium Way either.

Hard to tell if it will have the desired effect on traffic, think there must have been a crash on the M60 as Monton, Ellesmere Park, Peel Green and Eccles were turned into a car park tonight. We might have missed a trick here, we could have invited NCP to be the club sponsors

Can you walk across it, say parking at Chill factor E and walking that way, is it possible?

Technically I don't think so, but it looks lik you might be able to shimmy across unless loads start to do it. You'd hope that a couple of new car park access points would be opened ASAP, Sale play Saturday at 3 so will be interesting to see what impact the road has, i'm working so I'll keep an eye open and report back.

Initially MK said it was designed for walking to the ground as well as improving traffic flow. But then again....

I'll say it with hushed tones but the traffic around Peel Green and Brookhouse seems to have improved markedly in the last 2 days, the proof in the bridge shaped Christmas pudding is if it the lack of traffic due to school holidays and Christmas leave or the uber bridge?
Wednesday 3rd January will be the litmus test.

Traffic today was shocking before and after the Sale game, backed up before to the Grapes and after just blocked everywhere.
Plan B?

Another update.
Sale played Harlequins yesterday with an alleged crowd of 7,242 (I'll get my derrière out in your local Burtons window if there was that many) and the pre game traffic was as chaotic as ever, the bridge seemed to be extremely quiet too which is odd with so many Sale fans coming from the Cheshire part of the M60.
The positive is that after the game the traffic seemed less troublesome than previously so maybe the new road and bridge has had the desired effect there.
One really crap thing I noticed when driving past later on the bus shelter that so many use has been reconstructed but without any form of shelter, I mean it's not like there are 50+ people huddled there after most games in the driving rain.

I used to walk to the ground using the canal walkway to reach the stadium, don't know if this will be possible now because you would need to cross the new road to reach the ground?

Coming back from the Trafford centre not long after the Sale game had finished one thing 8 did notice was that there were a number of fans who had obviously walked from the chill factor / Trafford centre.
Hopefully g8ven the fact that our games are in the summer it could well be an option for a number of our fans too?

Yeah, there seems to be an ample footpath at the side of it. Judging by the traffic at the TC can't see it being long before people use it the opposite way and park at the stadium and walk across the bridge.

Excellent stuff, be great that for going Wetherspoons pre-match!
