But he's been able to start buying players for about 3 months now, last year he had to wait for another 2 months to buy anybody. So, in theory, he's in a better position to buy is year.

I do get the impression there is disquiet in the ranks and if I were to put money on anything I'd put it on what is about to happen when the season is done and dusted.
It is OK signing on all and sundry for next season but to then say that the contracts will change because the club will be a different entity must be worrying for players.
On the issue of squad size I think we started off the season a back or two light and then lost our biggest attacking back in Carney, it was nothing but stupidity to let him go (I remain convinced it was for financial reasons not moral) and not replace him until so late as we did, e Doc had the money as he says we should have gone to Newcastle and brought Olpherts in immediately.
As for next season not only are new players in the backs needed (I know it's a broken record but the guy from Sheffield and MCB would revolutionise our backs) but above all more coaching than the one play everyone has sussed out is needed or we will be bottom 4 all season long.

Sorry MR, I think we need a really class centre. Tupou of Wakefield would have been good but he's re- signed for them.
If you read what Evalds has just said; he's stated that they've not had an easy game this season, even in the cup, that they're drained and the team is now having to be picked from those who are fit and available each week.
So we'll see what they're like when they've had a two week break. In hindsight this year it might have been better being knocked out in our first round of the cup.

Yes. He knew we didn't have an academy/reserve this year but decided to put faith in a squad of utility players that can cover each others position. This may have been his choice or his hand might have been forced by the fact that the available pool of players desperate to play for Salford is quite small. Or a combination of both. Money isn't an issue with regards to the squad. MK is quite happy to throw money at players if Watson wants it. He and Watson have both been quoted as saying such. So, yes, it was his choice. Possibly his only choice under circumstances. You're looking for clear-cut black and white answers when the truth will be more complicated and grey. He will not have an academy next season. Your point is?

He will not have an academy next season. Your point is? You made a point he didn't have an academy last year I'm saying he will not have one next year so what was your point.

Come on girls, let's be civil!
Saw Leigh today, played like we did on our good run and they seem to have found a good centre! And so have Warrington; they say it comes in 3's. I wonder?

correct me if im wrong but we have lost 7 on the bounce since Huddersfield, 5 which have been by quite a margin? That is concerning to say the least imo. I think injuries and a distinct lack of squad depth have played a role but also other unknown factors.

According to MK the players are out on their feet. 3 played with injuries and shouldn't have played on Fri. Club could give an injury update on Monday. So 2 weeks off to get some sort of a side out for Wakefield. Wigan went through this but came good.
Might be a reality check on what Watto faces.

I dont blame Watto for the bad results we've had recently. The players hes picked are capable of winning games and they have proven it through the season. I believe this weekend is our first weekend off this season which a rest could help us out massively. We been lucky with injuries begging of the season so he's chosen the same 13 most of the time.
You cant get rid of Watto, didnt the same happen with Wakefield last season with Chris Chester? He got them into the top 8 didnt win a play off game at all last season and look at them now.

This could go one way or the other for me. Either Watson goes at the end of the season after suffering 14 defeats in 16 games, or Koukash chooses to back him and invests in a stronger and bigger squad next year that can cope much better with a handful of injuries

Manny, we're moving forward. Better than last year, too many injuries at the end, which every club has had this year (except Cas). Next year same coach stronger squad.
Rome wasn't built in a day mate.
