This is not calling for Watto's head btw, but is it just me or is Watto making some bizarre team selections. I'm hearing no Sau & Dobbo again tonight aren't playing and there fit to play. It's like there giving up already. Very strange and frustrating to be honest when we've been brilliant for 50% the other half well meh!

There may be a good reason for the choices that we're not privvy to. Niggles, fitness, or even wanting to give others game time. Who knows?
I'm presuming there is good reason for these things rather than Watson just picking names out of a hat.

I would hope all team selections are now based on fitness, previous performance and specific requirements rather than as of old on who gets on with whom.
I like Watson and think he is a good coach but he does appear to be a little bloody minded and one dimensional, our 'move' has been sussed by all and sundry and a plan B has not been found which must lie directly at the feet of the head coach, we all know if Sheens were still at the club different plays would have been developed during the season.
Think on needs to learn more coaching flexibility which would come from having someone with more experience within the set up, someone else has mentioned Kear who for me would have been ideal (Welsh connections).
I personally think Watson is lucky the team performed so well early season or his position would be under review buy an owner with an itchy trigger finger.

It's a strange one, dobsons form did drop but I don't for one second think he was being unprofessional or not trying. Plus even playing poorly he's been no worse than carney Sau and koppy both seem to be model pro's, both seemed to be doing ok to me, I don't see why we would drop them when there are far worse performers in their positions still playing.
We don't know everything that goes on, but I am concerned about thes strange squad selections. Something seems off

Ian Watson gave an interview recently - I think it was on Devil In The Detail after the Hull game - in which he said Dobbo had required an injection to get him on the field for the semi-final. He hasn't played since, so maybe he's just injured.
I saw Dobbo on the Arndale Centre a few weeks ago. He was carrying a Hollister bag, so maybe he injured his eyes on the daft lighting they have in their stores.

Junior injured according to a get well message on Twitter Must mean he's injured then... So I hear... He's fit. And not happy he's not playing. Dobson is fit. Of course that could be rubbish just as much as someone saying get well on twitter, but I've heard this from a fair few people Something's not right

Clearly, something's not right with what's going down tonight at Wigan. I have a horrible feeling that MK will be searching for a new coach. He's not a patient man

The Widnes comparison has been mentioned many times and I've thought it's rubbish we're far better than that, but now I'm worried

To be fair I agree with signing players up when they are playing well, what's the alternative? Let them go elsewhere? It's the coaches job to motivate. I really like watto, but something has gone wrong since wire away. Not sure if it's the players not agreeing with how he has tried to stop the rot, or not not being able to come out with anything but the plan a, or him being stubborn. I don't know, and I don't really care, I just want it sorting.

They seem to be playing with one foot in Tenerife at the moment...

Got a feeling his days are numbered sadly. We know Marwan isn't the sentimental type to keep Watson on because he's a 'Salford lad'. He's gotten us far this year there's no doubt about that but coming into the end of the season and being in these 'big games' his game plan doesn't have seem to have worked out well. From Koppy's wife on twitter she made it clear that five of the team had been dropped with how bad we're going seems to signal something is up. I really don't want to see Watson go and do believe we should give him more time as he's still inexperineced but i'd rather see a new coach come in in the off season and have a full pre season then sacking him 4 games in. All this seems over reactionary and maybe ot is as we've still got 4 games left but in all honestly i don't think Watson has.

let's get this season done and the dust settle, on the plus side 3 toughest games done now. Win out next 4 and top 4 is ours Hopefully this week off does us some good, watto earns his coin here building bridges and confidence. Losing to hull away, cas home, Wigan away is probably fair enough and about par. We've got to win our home games now.

Getting things in perspective, look how bad Wigan, Saints, Leeds have been when they've had lots of injuries. We need more depth to stay in contention.
Two weeks break now, which is what everyone needs, then 4 wins, Cas in the play offs and Leeds at Old Trafford.
Just glad we're not at Wembley; now that could be embarrassing.
