Not doubting his ability as I said, just basing my comments on when he was with us and now at Wakey.
If Johnstone hadn't got injured he wouldn't have been getting in the team with BJB on the other wing, but that's the beauty of having squad players and someone of his calibre coming in, as you say we could've done with him over the past 6 months.

If you had asked me at the start of this season who I would prefer on our wings, mcb or Greg Eden it would have been mcb all day. A lot depends on your centres ability to pass the ball!

Amongst all the doom and gloom, that squad doesn't look a million miles away from one which could compete. First choice 1-17 is prettty good just need a couple of improvements. We struggle massively with any injuries or suspensions particularly to our backs, and front row isn't great either. Should be good for back row though!

However, injuries will play havoc with your plans whoever you are - the prime example is Wigan early season. On the flip side, Cas have had a fairly easy time, injury-wise. I'm not saying they haven't had any, they have and are missing Eden right now. but their spine has been pretty much intact so far. Take out Gale, McMeeken(?) and, say, Shenton, and what would they look like? (I haven't studied Cas, so the names might be wrong, but they seem to have much the same team every week and good luck to them) We need to enhance the squad with 3 or 4 good players. We need a bit more beef up front and some real speed at the back. Much of the decision making will depend on who stays and who goes, so it's a bit early to be definite yet, but I hope they are actively looking along those lines. |

Young loose forward playing for Warrington wolves u19 this season looks a fantastic prospect, just finished the season with some fantastic try's and only in his second year, Salford fan and season ticket holder as well , these are the youngsters we should be looking at imo
