It's been tough for Carney to get himself in to any form whatsoever as he's been in and out of the team. With Dobson and Lui having a good partnership, Watson hasn't had much of a need to change a winning formula. We can't expect Carney to amaze us if he isn't given a continuous run of games.

It's only Mr Dixon to be fair. He still thinks a big name player will automatically become a success, despite our decent season so far being achieved with a distinct lack of so called superstars. Widnes had a good last season.where are they now.let's see where we are next season before pating our selves on the back. You play your best players in their best positions. If fit Carney is our best half back so he should be playing. As I say lets start giving ourselves a gold medal at the end of next Season. My concern is there are similarities between Widnes last year and Salford this. Granted our surprising lofty position has lasted longer but there was many Widnes players contracts up for renewal at the time, and following many players being re-signed their form suffered and they ended up in free fall. I just hope we don't go the same way now many of our players have the security of a nice new contract. Is it just a coincidence that our form has dipped following many players signing new deals recently?

We've been quite lucky with injuries this year and our small squad has lasted well. I think we need to increase the size of our squad next year to maintain our position in the top 8.
We'll need an extra 4 or 5 first team level signings. As many have said keeping Vatuvei fit will be a challenge and may be a drain on small resources.

Someone on this forum said we are where Cas was last season so we will carry on to their giddy heights next season.Yes that could happen, I don't think it will. But we could also be like Widnes.Cas for one thing have something we lack, pace across the backs. And a better pack.In my opinion we need at least five new players, all better than we have now.Stand still and you go backwards in top flight sport. We certainly need an academy set up and quick.I think one or two on here are getting giddy about next season and what we will do,I think realistically we will be doing well to qualify for the top eight. The season after that their is talk of going back to some kind of franchise system if that is the case then next season becomes even more important.

It's a bit early for us to be worrying about next season. I think I'll enjoy the rest of this season for the time being.
I have a feeling we might freshen things up for the next two games so maybe Carney will feature. Let's hope he proves himself. We need as many players as possible in good form going into the semi final.
