The half backs had no platform because we had no possession in the first half due to several players making too many errors. It's a vicious circle because mistakes lead to fatigue and fatigue leads to conceding points. Concede points and it leads to more fatigue and more points conceded. etc, etc. I also question the decision to play two inexperienced hookers when we have a Dally M winner who can play that position sat in the stands. Perhaps the decision was based around defence with Flanagan one of our best defenders around the middle absent with injury? I'm just totally perplexed why we signed Todd Carney because he never gets selected. I honestly question if Carney was Watson's choice or the Docs? Does seem astounding to have a player with such incredible talent not even on the bench, I remain to be convinced by Wood, he tries but he just doesn't look SL standard to me. Let's hope the Vatuvei signing was endorsed by Watson or we'll have two of the most expensive players in Superleague getting splinters in their ar$e. If we aren't going to play Carney could we not try and do a loan swap with another club until the end of the season?

Can anyone please tell me a game Carney has excelled in when he has been on the pitch ? All this he is the best HB at the club incredible talent etc just does not add up. Watson and his team see him training so have a much better idea of his capabilities. How many clubs were after him when he left Catalans and more to the point why were they so happy to let him go.

He has played international and state of origin. He is fit and can't make the bench of this team, you talk about training I think their is a few guaranteed their place come what may.Obrien for one, you can't run a team like that eventually it ends in tears.

Agree he was good in both games but he was superb in the Warrington game. Don't know why he's not figuring at the moment though.

Could say the same about Kevin Locke and Vidot and look how they turned out. Dobson and Lui have took us to 3rd in the league and a cup semi final. I do however think that Carney deserved to keep his place after Saints away. Would've like to see us maybe rotate between the 3 of them until the semi final. O Brien has been dropped a couple of times already this season so I wouldn't say he is guaranteed a place. It's a bit sad how he seems to be the current scapegoat for no apparent reason apart from the fact that we've recently lost a couple of games.

Yes Carney did deserve to keep his place. He didnt. If your had been Carney what you have done.I would have said I am injured and take the money.

Sorry, but I have had it with the Todd Carney love-in. He's had two 'good' games (one of them 'great'). That's about the same return as we got from Kevin Locke. Not good enough. Time to put-up or ship-out! God, I hope Manu Vatuvei doesn't turn out to be another treatment table afficionado!

Wouldn't expect that attitude from an international and state of origin player to be honest.

He still thinks a big name player will automatically become a success, despite our decent season so far being achieved with a distinct lack of so called superstars.

Which makes the return on Carney up 50%. Vatuvei could well fall into the same bracket as Vidot. There's some striking similarities in that both haven't played for a while with big reputations. Manu needs to show he's come to work hard and not collect a pension top-up.

Still the love in persists. Have you forget his other performances, particularly Catalans away.

I would think even Dobson and Lui would find it difficult turning in a good performance from the stands. Give the guy a break, he's had his problems but when he plays he's class.
Catalan; have a look at the circumstances. They got there Sun night after playing Friday and played a team the next day that had 5 days rest. The Oz test team would have found it difficult.
He should be rotated with the other half backs to keep everyone fresh.
You have a short memory. Last season Lui had to play on one leg. We have 10 important games coming up and Carney covers the most important 2 positions on the field.

Widnes had a good last season.where are they now.let's see where we are next season before pating our selves on the back. You play your best players in their best positions. If fit Carney is our best half back so he should be playing. As I say lets start giving ourselves a gold medal at the end of next Season.
