As was said earlier, just glad it's not Hull, they were good against us and awesome yesterday. Their backs are like second row forwards, shows that we need a bit more size and speed in our backs. So let's beat www, Whinging Wayne's Wigan and then Leeds in the final. It'll just be great if/when we beat Wigan to see his miserable face complaining about everything under the sun but not complementing anybody who beats them. Thought Cooke was very good in complementing Salford when we beat Wakefield. By the way, if you didn't know, Wigans name 'pie eaters'. I was told doesn't come from pies in Wigan but from a pit strike when Wigan miners went back and Leigh miners didn't: so they were accused of eating humble pie, hence pie-eaters. Can anybody confirm this? Yes spot on that story.

The story as I know it, was that the miners in the Wigan area went back to work first in the General Strike whilst the Leigh miners remained on strike. The Leigh miners then nicknamed Wiganers: 'The Pie Eaters' because they had the money to be able to buy pies which was intended as a slight on their weak character. The Leigh miners after this became known as 'The Lobbyists' because they remained on strike and could only afford a 'Lobby' which apparently was a very cheap form of food below the level of a Pie. What I don't know is did the Lobbyists gave the name to themselves as a badge of courage or it was the Pie Eaters taking the piss? Answers on a postcard please. Yours, Jimmy

I want to stand/sit with 'The Shed' at this game and sing my head off for the full 80, can someone please advise what category I need to buy a ticket for as soon as they become available on Wednesday please? The stadium plan on the Wigan link suggests we have been allocated the west stand and half of the north stand (seating). I just hope the people of Salford and beyond turn out fur this. I hope those 4,000 tickets are snapped up quickly to send a message to MK and the wider Rugby League world that we do have a credible support base. It is arguably one of the biggest games in Salfords history particularly for 'political' reasons - a good turnout from the fans and / or a win may just prevent a rebrand (I appreciate that's a discussion for the rebrand topic) For what it's worth a few from my part of the world who I have introduced to the club have all expressed an interest in coming to this game. I also met a lapsed fan whilst on my hols a couple of weeks ago from Astley, he hasn't been since the Willows days, spoke to him yesterday and he seemed keen to make his return for this game. So fingers crossed the interest is there.

Apparently the £20 tickets are standing. Thanks for that Michiganred. As I live near London, I hope we can buy tickets over the internet. Jimmy

It's better to sell an allocation and ask for more than have to send tickets back, if only in perception. I assume Wigan will get around 8k allocation, if that, still leaves another 3k. I think we'll be ok

If Wigan want to get to Old Trafford they will need to win their last 4 or 5 games to stand any chance so they will be playing full strength all the way up to the semi now so they may pick up injuries or tiredness may kick in. So the question is for us now with top 8 secured, should we rest players for the wigan game or still go for it with a full squad.

I would suggest that "Don't put all your eggs in one basket" applies to the Cup and that we are best served by taking "each game as it comes" and pick our strongest and most appropriate team for every match on its merit.
Run out of cliches now, here hang on, I've just found another down the back of the sofa: 'A strong and stable government." Jimmy

As long as we hold our own I think we should all be happy. Am I right in thinking only Wakefield have done the double on us and we got revenge in the cup. I wouldn't say we've been embarrassed yet either, our 2 heavy defeats have been after the double headers and we won the return fixture. I really fancy us against anyone. I also think Cas could come unstuck and our game at there's could be to decide who's top going into the last game. 🤞
